Not sure about FASST

Spektrum is working fine in 40% planes

I am flying the Spektrum Module in my 10X and the 9 channel rx in my 3M Comp Arf 260 and the DX7 system in my 30% yak. Not a single problem. I am now installing it in a 35% Aero works 260.

Spektrum will fly larger planes fine . Just makle sure the power system is
up to the job and you wont have a prob . I fly one in my 2.6 comp arf Yak
and have NEVER had so much as a hit . All of my research on 2.4 was done
on line and my first test was done with the Yak and its been solid as a rock .

My Tx is an old JR 9x with the spektrum module (AR 9000) and it was as simple
as sitck the module in , install the Rx and do the bind . Good to go from there
on in .

As with ALL new Rx installations do all the ground testing / range testing you can
and only after you have run out of things to test then go fly . Too many planes
are lost due to poor pre flight . I sent my radio to a tech first , then the batts
were put through load testing and cycled a few times (found to be on the way out).
Batts were replaced and checked again , I then out what "self discharge" was for
LiPo . A third set of batts were put through there pacers and they passed .
My entire servo was then system re checked and the load was found to
be to high , it was tracked to my rudder dual servo set up . SWB self adjusting
tray was put in and the servo system then passed the test .

After all of this was done the plane was taken to the field , range tested ,passed
then flown . As you can see I treated it just like a new plane and my yak is
still flying high .

There are surprisingly few reports on the FASST system. I've yet to read anythign bad about it, and I know it was tested in giant scale stuff, so you should be fine. Do what I do, when you get a new receiver, put it in something you don't care about and fly it until it's a spec in the sky. Then you'll know that it's working right.

On 2.4 in general, I have it in 2 composite 100cc airframes, and 1 wood 100cc, and it's been flawless in all of them. I've had the DX7 since it was released and couldn't be happier with the integrity of the link. All environments and planes I've put it in it has handled with ease.

Not always true.

2.4 is prone to inteference and vibration just like any other RX from gas engines.

Current feeds back through the wires to the RX all the time. Also there is more blockage issue the bigger you go and usually more metal, wires and Carbon Fiber.......all of which are bad for 2.4

So don't think just because your simple .40 nitro plane works a 40% will. It still comes down to installation and placement.

All good points I think Fasst will be fine! Would love to have a 12FGA with dual Fasst Rcvrs, on my next 40% I trust Futaba Products. Time will proove them. Currently I fly a 9Z. The peace of Mind of not being accidently shot down would be worth the investment all the other benifits are just bonus. Looks like I need to start saving my lunch money!
