My question to Wrench would be......."Before FG where did you get your info?"
Then I would say..."Thank you Max and your entire staff and all the other fine contributors for such a great site!" |

Well, I will try to do a better job in reporting if I get the chance to do this again.
Let me start the wrap up page. Ken thanks for your help earlier and if you could move it again to the front, we will close the deal. I will be short on pictures as the batteries died in the camera before awards. Chuck |

Let me know when you want it moved, I'll be standing by.
BTW: You did a great job reporting, no way could that have been easy. I've covered local contests and flown in them at the same time, not a cake walk, by any means. |

Chuck thank you for the effort you put forth. My post was in no way meant to demean your efforts. Sorry if you took it that way. This is just the thread/site I chose to respond to. I look forward to next years report from you. ![]() I know for a fact the guys in Int and Advance tried just as hard, practiced just as much as the guys in FAI and Masters. My hats off to all that flew in all classes. Just seems the coverage across the board on every site was FAI/Masters with very little coverage of Int/Advance. Seems it's the same year after year, maybe the lower classes don't hold as much interest for everyone. I would like to see them get their "15 minutes of fame". They deserve it imho. Can you name who won last years FAI and Masters? Now can you name who won the other two classes? |

Deal!! As long as we can include Chuck and any others that helped this year. It would be nice to have multiple players covering the event, that way it won't fall on 1 guy, that's a lot to expect from a pilot that's also competing. Last edited by Boulder; 07-22-2007 at 08:42 PM. |

First of all, thanks for the coverage. I know it is hard to see everything and report especially as a participant.
That being said, I think the comment from Wrench raises a good point. I know how much I and others have enjoyed reading stories of some young kid getting into competition, getting a little encouragement and doing well. Heck, there could even be a good story out there about some has been competitor that has not been at it for years. He may have been busy running a business but now has some fancy new hotrod plane and is getting back into it......... We have seen those threads here in the past. There can be some great stories and people even in the "lower" classes. That fact of the matter is that even at that level, the dedication and passion is way above the norm. It is all fun to read. Truth in advertising. I know Wrench and he was NOT bashing. I know how he bashes and your knees would be sore if he was at it! hehe. Sorry, Wrench. I could not resist. I met Boulder at the Nall this year. If Wrench and Boulder get together at the NATS next year and put up some coverage I am sure they will have a good time, do a good job and have fun. Wrench came to the Nall on Friday this year and Pilot'sWyfe and I went to his home field and flew with him on Saturday. He is a good guy, loves planes an is a good pattern pilot. You could not ask for a better person to hang with at the field for a good day of flying. I wish I lived closer.

Any help or involvement would be outstanding. i encourage others to get involved not only for the NATS but also for the NSRCA. or IMAC if that is where they excel or are intersted in.
I was a little aggravated but may have been lack of sleep, thought of driving and just an overall tough VACATION.. hahahaha. So, next year, lets see if we can get site reporters (3 total) to help out. That would be great. And for those who won.... without looing it up for last year.... Intermediate 1. Ryan Archer 2. Ryan Smith 3. Chuck Hochhalter 4. ugh.. cant remember 5. Jim Sheffield Advanced 1. Brett Wickizer 2.Mike Hester 3. Mark Hunt 4. Keith Black 5. ok, another one. hehe.. not too bad.. ask me about the other classes, havent got a clue Chuck |

Chuck thanks for all your efforts.
If I'm there I'll help all I can. I don't profess to be perfect, nor have I ever done any "live" reporting but I'm willing to learn. |

Chuck and all, great job reporting. I know that this year I couldn't do nearly anything like I had last year as far as pics and stuff. It's about impossible to focus on the competition AND report and take pics. Next year, if it's not a Team Trials year, I'll try again to take a boat load of pics. This year I took some from practice and after flying was done. Worst part, I had 2 camera's with me...lol.
