I've flown the 35% and it was amazing.
I've seen the 43% fly in person and it did everything that was asked of it.

On the 43% use what the manual recommends!
I have flown them all, and they all rock. I love the 43%!

Marciano, first off good luck w/ the plane! I am glad it reached you in one piece.... Personally I was going to use 3 servos per Aileron as well.... Those Ailerons are BIG!! Herve did insist 3 was the way to go on this one......
Looking forward to seeing some build photos! Enjoy!! For anyone who cares.... I sold my plane to Marciano, only because i decided to do a BH 50% Edge...... Marciano had a want ad out for one of these and since it was NIB and i had a buyer i decided to part w it for now.... Otherwise i would have used it to back up my Extra..... This plane WAS and IS Awesome, VERY complete ARF, anyone interested in this plane when they are available again, i would jump on it.... If i do something stupid w/ my extra this season, as of now this would be my replacement airframe without a doubt...... Last edited by 3-d flyer; 05-06-2008 at 12:29 PM. |

I tried two servos and it's not a good idea. The snaps are much crisper with 3 servos. The only thing I could even think of changing is maybe going with a carbon fiber landing gear to drop a little weight. Other than that the suckers about perfect. I flew mine with the new foam core wings last weekend and it still flies great. David |

Do you have foam or built up wings for your Edge? What altitude do you fly? Are you running a smoke system? Are you going to run cannisters or tuned pipes? David |

There is not a particular problem with the DA-170 in the 43% Edge, as long as you manage the throttle appropriately. The potential problems do not come from the power of the engine: problems come from how and when that power is used.
Macanaw often flies at an altitude where the engines don't make their normal power, so he needs a little power reserve. I fly at sea level, and in spite of the heat (Hawaii), I have no need for power beyond the DA-150. Again, this is all a matter of responsible throttle management. The PAU Edge is a large 3D/aerobatic plane, and cannot be flown like a Red Bull racer or a small 60 size plane. |

Wish they would offer a couple different color schemes, then I would consider it.

62, start with 8" and adjust to your style from there. The factory plane I flew was at the recommended CG and flew great in my opinion. However, everyone has their own personal taste. The further back the better for 3D, with a slight tradeoff in stability and coupling. Mine will be set up for 8" when I maiden it. Good luck with your first flights tomorrow!
