Thanks for all the info. What sort of performance improvements have you noticed?

I will use the DA-100 with MTW pipes in a 2.6m Yak. I look forward to see how this works... if these pipes perform how the look like, they will perform flawless

No results yet and i am still buildiing the plane. The MTW tuned pipes are new on the market but DA tested 7 generations of pipes with MTW before releasing them to the market and i think i am the only one posting infos about these pipes.

Oh, and the plane only weighs 26.3 pounds!!! However, after flying it a bit, and having some interesting experiences, I wouldn't have minded an extra pound, in more wood and more glue throughout the structure.
What RPM does the engine come on the pipe? the mid-range? do you have RMP's?
Thank you,
Jim

The K&S 1060's are a good proven pipe as well. Do not know how well they work on a DA100, FlynRazrback had some on a 3W 106CS with 12" headers and was getting over 7000 rpm on a 28X10 with them and still had a decent midrange..

I am currently fitting a pair on my Pacific Planes Extra 260 with a 106CS

This is impressive performance of the 106.I flew the DA-100 on AMT 80 tuned pipes with the PT models 28x10. Got 6500 rpms but the plane did not perform well. Don't know why since the rpms were decent on such a heavy load. It just did not work in the air.I then switched to a Mejzlik 28x10 and that prop was ALOT better and easier (looked like easier) to the engine. It spun 6840 rpms until a piston and wrist pin failed.... Performance was very good and flew my 35% through Unlimited without any difficulty.I did not intend to try DA service.DA told me that my engine was either too lean, badly baffled of the pipe setup is too restrictive (too short headers). I have to lenghten the headers now as I have good baffles and the engines was more than only on the rich side.</p>

It's almost been a year since you posted this, but I thought I'd let you know that I have about 250 flights on my EScomposite pipes in the H9 260 now and they are flawless - absolutely no problems. Swinging a mejz 27X10 at around 6700, if memory serves.

I am sure that once you get the needles tuned and a little more run time you will see at least a 300RPM jump - at least I hope so!

I am using a DA100 (well broken in) on MTW pipes with the recommended DA header length. Turns a PT 28x10 (which is a high-load prop) at 6,600 on the ground. Transition is decent and the power is great. I'm at 2,600ft ASL.

It is also a fairly quiet setup...

I do not know what is going wrong with my set up and i bought my DA-100 used. It's suppposed to have 6-7 gallons. I am going to do more testing next weekend but the transition and throtle response is good. Needle valves are set 1-3/4 on high and 1 1/2 on low. I am not impressed and i would expect 6500 RPM minimum.

For comparaison, i have a new DA-100 and KS-86 canisters and PT 27x10 on my backup plane at 6100 RPM on the first tank. I fly at sea level.

I now have almost 3 gallons through my 3W-106CS on 12.2" headers and K&S 1060 pipes. Still on 32:1 oil and am getting consistant 6800-6900rpm on either a PT or Mej 28X10.. To me the Mej is a little crisper throttle response in the air and pulls out of Hover with a little more authority. I have no idea what it is unloading to in the air but it sounds very "happy" . It has a nice transition still with a definite "come on the pipe" a little above half throttle.
