Default Loss of a good friend...

Yesterday morning (25-Jul-07) I lost a very dear friend of mine. She was a beautiful Brazilian / Japanese mix with a very unique name; Bruna. From the first time we met I was blown away by her presence and her ability to make the best out of any situation. We vowed to remain friends (in spite of how attracted we were to each other) to prevent loosing this awesome bond.

Prior to the military I had gone through some relatively hard times. I lost my best friend from my childhood Mario, and my g/f at the time. She was so very supportive of me and kept me living really. Bruna would often come over to my house right as I would get off of work and drag me off to some random event. When she came over I knew no matter what we ended up doing we would have a good time.

Ever the interesting person, her interests were as diverse as any. She was an expert martial artists; trained in Nin Jitsu and Ju Jitsu while in Brazil and America. In comparison the years of martial arts training I had in Karate, Kung Fu, Sua Jau, and Tai Chi were no match for her. I had met my match in her in more ways than one. When we would go out dancing we would often jokingly mix our martial arts moves in just to make things interesting.

While I thought I was ever the diverse person, she brought me to so many different music scenes and clubs. At the time I had a Mohawk so no matter the type of club we went to, I was always out of place. My adventures with her ranged from gothic, fetish, trance, and techno clubs to even just random trips. Often we would embark on trips to Jacksonville, the Keys, or other random places.

We remained as great friends and only lost contact at times while I was away in the Army. She would go on to marry and moved back to NY while I was spending time in Afghanistan and Iraq. After I completed my service and was back home in FL our paths crossed once again. Countless relationships later for both of us (and in her case an ex. Husband) and we still had the same friendship.

It saddens me that although our friendship had not changed, she had in many ways changed. She had gone through some very hard times and everyone in her life who loved her was really there for her. Her family really loved me (and still does) and I enjoyed all the times I had with her. In her I realized that the type of friendship we had would be something I would seek in a marriage. I will always remember her as an ever loving and caring friend who had the most outgoing personality.

Love your friend,

Eman

Sorry for your loss. It sounds like the two of you were very close. As long as she is in your memory part of her is still alive.

Her famiy has requested that we all wear light colors. First funeral I will attend wearing light colors. I know its how Bruna would have wanted it.

Geesh...man you are only 15! I would have to think of what you went through that was bad. From what I can recall the majority of my friends I lost growing up was due to auto accidents.
