I think the title says it all but i want to make my schemes and my plane desighns on my G3.5 so please help?

I'm trying to figure out the same thing. But I think that cad is involved.

cad. if you don't know how to use cad i wouldn't bother, theres way more to it then just making a plane you like. its very complicated. go to www.knifeedge.com and you can find more info on it.

I design my planes in Photo Shop. There is one guy He that does it really good. He made Elie's BAD ASS YAK and it is a picture he took of it and made into a flying G3 plane. I think his name is "Short Bus". Look him up he will tell you how it is done. I usually already have the plane but I edit it in photo shop and am able to save it in a format that accepts G3 files.

I thought SleepyC did that. Shortbus did some schemes and edits though...

You do need 3D CAD software to create one though. However, I heard a rumor, and it's just a rumor, that KnifeEdge was looking to come out with, I guess, an addons where you could create your planes.(still just a rumor though)

Realflight would NEVER do that. if people started creating there own planes.. they wouldn't be able to sell add ons as they would not be needed anymore..

Yeah.. very few people... very talented people that know how to use cad like programs... now if realflight made an addon where any average joe could do it...

You need a program such as 3DStudio Max, Wings 3D or Gmax to do the physical 3D model, and a program like Paint Shop or Gimp to do colorschemes. All of the 3D modeling programs take a lot of time to become good and proficient at using them. You can also use Inventor Pro 11 (CAD), but you have to save it as a certain file, and send that file to someone with 3dsmax so they can texture it and get it into Realflight for you . . .

What planes are you trying to make?If you want to adjust an already existing plane then you just use the physics editor in G3.5.Colourschemes are made using any program that can open and edit TGA files and if you want to make a plane from scratch then you need a 3d modelling program like 3dsmax.Go to the Knifeedge forums for more information on making planes and what is involved in doing so.I have just finished making the Extreme Flight Yak 54 88'' and its available from the swap pages at the KnifeEdge website,use the link below.
