It that scheme sprayed in the mold or is it custom? I love yellow and checkers, I could do w/o the pissed off chicken,LOL, and IMO flames go on hotrods not planes. It still is a nice job tho...Whats the weight on it? RTF

I've built both the Aerotech and the Carden. I have construction photo's of both on my web site. If you wish for a kit opinion on both PM me with any questions you have, Walt

3W offers a bunch of really awesome paint schemes that are very nicely painted out side the mold, and clear coated. They actually cover the wings and stabs in white and paint over it. ( this add's only a couple ounces ) you can check out all the planes at www.aircraftinternational.com and go to the 3W germany site link. They can weigh anywhere between 37 and 40lbs. The one I am flying now weighs about 38lbs. With a 3W 170 and 9 servo's.

I would suggest taking Walt up on his offer to get his opinion on kits offline. I've also built both the Aerotech and the Carden 35% Yaks.......and I'm pretty sure I have an idea what Walts opinion might be.
Feel free to PM me as well... |

My Airrunner Yak weighs 38 lbs and the paint scheme is one of the starndard custom schemes that 3w offers. They artist/painter even autographs the aileron.

Hey Trent, whats up? Thanks for speaking with Shawn to get the final details worked out on the Yak. Last weekend was the maiden (4 flights). Everything was rock solid, but the CG was too far forward. I've moved the packs back and I am heading out tomorrow morning.

I belive he said KITS,so for my2cts its aerotech,I have over 50 flights on mine and all I can say is that it get better every flight. Its right at 41# and floats like a feather, flies like t trainer, and lands like one also. I have a 3W170 for power and its just great combo. John at Aerotech will take good care of you as well.

i would go with the carden IMO, i dont understand why everyone is so big on weight? an 40% that weighs 44lbs will fly the sequence much better than one that weighs 36lbs. Yes the lighter one will 3d better but get blown all over the place flying imac. the point is that everyone is making them lighter to make 3D easier, if you cant 3D a 44lb 40% like you can a 36lb one then in my opinion your only as good as your 36lb plane. But back to the question the carden is a much more provine aircraft.

You obviously have never flown a light plane then......Bobs 28lb 40% CA 260 has been put through the unlimited sequence quite often, the only thing it really lacked was in the power dept. because it has a 100 instead of a 150. ALTHOUGH, it was specifically built for 3D, it does IMAC very well, in fact, a few of the unlimited pilots in our area are talking about building new planes because it flies so much better than their 44lb birds(also cardens). |
