Default "goop" For A Canopy?

Does anyone have experience with using Goop to attach a Giant Scale canopy?

I was going to use Pacer Canopy Glue, but the suff has the consistency of water and being so thin, not much would actually touch the canopy to glue it down. With Goop, I thought I could build up a bit more glue to hold it on. On the front of the canopy, only the edge will touch the fuse, hence me wanting to build it up a bit.

Thanks!!!

I Use a high quality epoxy and milled fiberglass, but only if I am gluing the canopy to wood. To do that you need to roughen up the adhesion surface of the canopywith 80 grit. If it's plastic to plastic, clear RTV works well.
I am sure there will be lots o people here saying to use the RC 56 or similar canopy glue...IMHO, it is the worst stuff I have ever worked with!

I think the thing with Goop or Zap-a-dap-a-goo is that it fumes and may fog the canopy...

I used shoe goo on my 33% extra havnt seen any problems yet, I did drill a small hole in the canopy in case gas would need to escape.

Yes do it quickly though! It will be permanent for sure. Be sure to have it all ready and press lightly. Then put masking tape around it a few times. Perfect!

If you have never done this before I would suggest to get someone that has. because it can be a mess and really screw things up if you mess up. AHEM.....I know this from experience...More that once! I finally learned and do mine a little different now using a disposable brush! Do whatever it takes...whatever works best for you if you have to do it by yourself!

I use Seal-All from Cosco or Ace Hardware. It dries clear, sticks to wood, covering, fiberglass, plastic. Make sure you are in a well ventilated area. This stuff smells bad when setting up!

here's a pic

I use 3M automotive trim adhesive. This stuff dries quick and cleans up good with acetone. I do all mine with this stuff. Just mask off ahywhere you don't want the glue to stick like the covering just outside the canopy. Then when the stuff is dry just trim with a razor knife.

try a millinary shop (where they sell dress making supplies) They have a liquid (white) glue for sticking seams together dries clear. Just like the old RC56

I use Goop, RC-56 sucks. I drill a small hole in all 4 corners on the canopy to let the air/gas out. Never had any luck with CA, although on my next one I will try the Zap Goo and see what happens.
