Hinged ailerons. Kinda the same reason your car's window screeches when you roll it down 1/2" while driving at 60mph. Sharp edge meeting different air pressure and velocity.
VERY nice MX2 Bro! Thanks for showin' the colors!!

It's actually coming from that highspeed FG sticker on the rudder. It's actually saying "yeeeeehaw"

Looks good, I will be maidening my MX2 this weekend. Did you weigh yours? I went with a 3W 170cs on cans for mine, should be adequate.

cool sound huh.. you should have herd them at the nall. sounds just like a slipping fanbelt. if iam not mistaken its the wiper on the ailerons. are these skin hinged?? havent looked up close, and no one at our field has one.

Everybody asks me about the screech in my CA E260 as well as my MX-2 - I tell then you have to pay extra to get the 'Taradactyl call' in the plane
I think it's pretty cool. They are 'skin-hinged' on the top of the ailerons, with an open - gap on the bottom, nothing air can flow through, as the top hinge is sealed, but the sharp leading-edge of the aileron cuts the air like a reed in a saxaphone - music to my ears. The tail-feathers are all pocket-hinged.

With a DA-150 on cans it is a wee bit overpowered,,,,,your 3W 170 should be OK.
