Default Tucson Aerobatic Shootout Question

So this will be my first time ever attending this event and i'm just going to as a spectator. I was wondering from you guys that have been there before, what days would be the best to go down. Like right now I'm planing on being there wednesday through sunday, except I'm leaving sunday afternoon. So my real question is whether or not I should stick around through sunday. Like will I be missing out on a lot leaving sunday afternoon or will it get over before...say like 4:00pm? I'm just trying to make the most out of the trip down so I would apprecitate some input. Really looking forward to it!
Thanks

Freestyle is only flown on Sat and Sunday. Flying "should" be finished around 3:00 on Sunday. I would try to see as much of Sunday as you can.

It varies, depending on weather and the flight line pace throughout the day. It's "usually" by 4:00.

Durango kid got pushed around by bosses and couldnt go. Seriously though, I was pissed that I couldnt, I was looking forward to meeting up with you guys to. Almost quit my job but thought ahead of time. Missing out on that comp ruined my hopes of competing in the shootout this year. Edge I have gone to the shootout the last couple of years, you wont be dissapointed, it is a great experience to get you motivated to buy a 40%........ my grandparents have a house down there so maybe we will throw a keger for camp jackass....or maybe just fruit punch and my grandmas great cookies lol.

Do you compete at the shootout? What planes do you have; are you sponsered by anybody?
Sounds like the shootout is pretty awesome. Do you ever get to talk with the big name ppls like QQ and the rest?

Nope I havent yet. I was going to this year but didnt get to enough contests. Yes I am sponsored by my dad who is the best help I could ask for and truely I have a job and dont need sponsors even though it would be convenient. Maybe some day I will be sponsored buy desert aircraft as that is the only one I would really like. Yes you can speak to the big name pilots, they walk around the comp just like normal people when they are not flying. My plane for next season will be a 40% comp arf 260 this season I flew a 33% sd models yak and it treated me very well.

Do you have a rough estiment of how much it costs to make that jump to those bigger gassers cuz I've been wanting to do that sometime soon and start competeing but I just wasn't sure of how much funds it requires?
what radio do you use? A comp arf 260...that should be fricken sweet

35% will run from $2k-5K

40% will run from $5k-10K

It all depends on how much gear you need and the type of plane you buy
