GREAT ODENS RAVEN!!
![]() |
k so,
i have a Hitec optic 6 transmitter and whenever i try to use a micro receiver with it (gws, JR) the range only goes to about 50 feet and then its starts to spazz out. this happens with ANY micro receiver that i use with this transmitter. the signal goes out at EXACTLY the same distance with all of the different receivers. do you guys know whats wrong? peace, ROBBY???

By "JR", do you mean the receiver is for JR? If so, it is not the same shift as Hitec. Typically, only Hitec and Futaba are compatible, shift-wise, unless the Tx or Rx are shift selectible?
If shift is not the problem, does this happen with the antenna collapsed? If so, try extending it and seeing how far you can go. If you get a thousand feet or so, you're golden for a park flyer.

by JR i mean that it is a JR reciever (R610M) and GWS micro recievers. My tranny has selectible shift and i know that i have it on the right shift. This happens with my antenna fully extended.

sounds like a faulty terminal connection to your antenna base in the TX, or a damaged tx module.

It may be a problem with the shift select function, then...

do you have the receiver antenae shortened? have you checked the receiver crystals? jr shift is positive, and hitec is negative. the optic 6 has selectable shift, and remembers it when the model number is selected for the respective shift receiver in that model. do you have the proper crystals for the receivers? are there any carbon rods along the antenae path? this could possibly interfere with reception. have you tried a hitec micro receiver such as the 555, or electron 6?

i have all the shifts on the right setting. i tested the whole system outside of the plane and i lost control at 50 feet. what do you mean by "the right crystals"? i have the spectra module so its synthesized and i know that i have it on the right channel. maybe i'll just send it back to hitec.
