Default AEROWORKS 35% 260, assembly, discussion, and flying thread

Well, I'm just about to head up to Aurora to pick up my 260, so I figured I'd get a thread going on it. For those unfamiliar with the jest of this new-aged arf:
http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/AWX260.htm
It is very much preassembled, so it will just be a matter of bolting junk on for the most part!
My equipment will be as follows:
TT lightened spinner
BME 26X10 break-in prop
BME 110 with stock muffs
3 2400 Fromecos for Rx & ign, with regulated reliaswitches
5245 digi mini for throttle
single 5955 for rudder
5945's everywhere else
955 Rx
CF wing tube
Graphtech gear (when it comes in)
Smart-fly optical ignition...

Aerographix logos
CF stab tube and tailwheel, if needed.

If anyone else is out there that's getting one, share your setup info here!!

Weight being a big factor for me, I am also contemplating this sweeta$$ pilot figure if I can get the plane in the 23 pound range!

Paul is very easy to work with. I have 5 of his pilots on the way. 3 40% and 2 35%. Also his spinners are very nice.

I'm Baaaack! Went to Aeroworks and picked up my 260, and hung out and talked with Rocco and Kim a bit. They are really excited about this new line of QB planes, and should be! On a side note, I saw the 75cc Yak there and it is quite huge...I have my eye on it !
Anyway, we all know the jest of what you get in the Kit, but this is what it looks like in the back of an SUV!...
Oh, and my birthday is tomorrow and my wife suprised me with one of their Edge 540T's...So I went to pic up one plane and came back with two! For a wife that says she feels like I am cheating on her with my airplanes, she sure ain't helping me to stop!

This thread is going to be awesome. I was looking at this plane this week and love the fact that it comes prehinged... hinging is really a drag when you want to get flying quickly!

Yep, it comes in three boxes - one for the fuse, and major hardware components, one for the wings, stabs, and rudder, and one for the HUGE cowling; that's a BME 110 in front of it!

Here are a couple more.
One is of the structure aft of the canopy area, that I don't ever remember seeing taken. It is a basic truss style structure, similar to Cardens, but the fuse sides are 2-2.5mm lite ply - very sound setup!
The other is an idea of the lengths they went to make this thing as A-R-F as possible. Not only does it come with the tank and USA-made tygon tubing, but that is how I pulled it out of the package...pick-up line was pre-cut and preinstalled on the clunk!!

I am not about to weigh it yet - you can literally smell the wetness of the wood. With our extremely dry climate here, my bet is that there is at least 1/4 pound in water weight to be lost from this plane. I can also tell you that Rocco said he weighed the first 4 kits that people came to pick up and said they were all within a quarter pound of each other - that's pretty consistant for this size of a plane...sorry, I forgot to ask him the total weights

Good luck with the build, everyone. I have decided to return it for personal reasons and go a different route, but I do have some bling a$$ custom vinyl graphics for it from Aerographix if anyone is interested...

Here are those graphics. To get an idea of the actual colors you can go to www.aerographicx.biz . The blue is royal blue chrome, the yellow is, umm Yelow chrome, and the base crome is their crown royal leaf, or something like that. If you Email them, they may be able to email samples back. If interested, PM me...

Did the plane come in above the weight you wanting and if so what weight did you get on the bare airframe...

The graphics set is cool. Noticed that the domain is incorrect though. It's supposed to be
www.aero-works.net

Anyone else going to do a build thread? This plane looks so nice.

Oh, are you talking about on the graphic? I notices that, but I had some other blue that I could have made a dash out of - I will include that if anyone is interested.
