Mark, make sure you post your progress with the AW260 and the 70! It should be a good combo!

I will be in a big hurry when I receive the plane. I will be trying to assemble, maiden and trim within one week to get ready for an IMAC event. Thats if it shows when its due. I will try to remember pictures of the process but will definitely have comments for you when I get back.
Thanks for the interest.

Maybe add a KS 1090 pipe to the 260 for an added boost?

I had a 2.3m Extra with a 3W 75, and it was a rocket! Insane vertical. I wasnt all to pleased with the flying characteristics of it though . . . just my .02

Well Pablo, that just brings up a whole new subject. I have been considering a pipe but was going to wait and see if the plane would hold the length of a pipe.
Secondly, we have an IMAC competition here in the SE, at Triple Tree (Joe NAll) that will only allow planes with canisters and three blade props. I am under the impression that a pipe won't do. The rule is new and apparently very strict. I believe that even a glow would be unable to compete due to this rule. Isn't a pipe just about as quite as a can?
I have seen a carbon fiber pipe that was extremely light. That would be a big advantage.

Being a 3W70 wouldn't it need a KS1060 instead?
Unlike canisters bigger is not better is it?

Pipes are just as quiet as cans. I am sure Tripple Tree will allow either, as long as it is not stock mufflers. As for a 3 blade, I am not sure why they do that, there are 2 blades out there that perform better and are just as if not more quiet. As for pipes, the 1090 would give the biggest boost, but after thinking about it the 1080 would be a better choice. Its lighter, will still develop good power, etc. The 1060 is too small for the 70.

ZZW--You called the 33% SD 260 the perfect IMAC machine. You had experience with this airplane ? If so what engine ?
