Default OPTICAL ILLUSION OR SCREWED UP??

Just got these kinda disturbing looking pictures of my airplane at a 3D event we were just at last weekend. You guys tell me what you think. Check out the elevators while hovering. Now mind you this picture was taken probably while I was less than 10ft off the ground. I was probably backing the plane down.

The first pic certainly looks like there is more throw on the left side then the right.

I doubt that's an optical illusion.....

It looks like it's time for some new programing or new servos...

Servos are brand new and its not them. Might have been the programing. I dont know. I'll check them next weekend when I go flying.

Mac didnt fix them. Ryan did. It was a programing/not knowing how to use the 10x completely issue we had at your shop. I'll post all the other pics of the airplane in a hover/harrier. No other pic even comes close to these which leads me to believe it might be an optical illusion.

Go turn your plane on and check. I had a similar problem on my 33%. it may appear to be even in some pics because it really is... on my plane about 2 out of 3 times they'd line up evenly, then the next time they'd be off center.

It could also be shutter speed on the camera itself. I'm sure there could be a very slight difference in power draw from the batteries to the elevators themselves. Here are some recent pictures I found where it shows the elevators having the same amount of throw. These pictures are only weeks apart.

If the channels you are using are far apart on the receiver (like channels 2 & 8) there is a lag between them. The greater the distance between channels to greater the lag. The camera may have captued the lag. In any event - check it out to be sure.

There are two types of hovering methods. People that make minor corrections and people that "pump" the control surfaces. Most radio/servo systems that run dual elevators on different channels will separate the elevator halves if you pump the stick real fast. You should be able to duplicate this on the bench if you go nuts on the elevator stick.

I was hovering a profile about 20 ft of the ground the other day and I thought i saw the same thing onthe elevators. I kept doing it and it would not repeat again. I say it is just and illusion of the sun one one side of the fuse.

Also over looking the fact that he could be using an elevon mix, where you have the ability to use you're elevators in cunjunction with you're aileron's for hovering "ease" . there is a club member at our field that uses such a mix.

I dont use a mix like that. Only mix I have is rudder to elevator for knife edge flight. Full elevator deflection over runs the mix.

Ryan,

Why is that? I've never heard that before. That's pretty interesting.
