On her Feet!!

The long rudder hinge is a bit fun to install. I found that if you just take an exacto knife and clean up each opening of each little hinge piece just a tad, it makes the wire slide in much easier.

Besides that, popped on the tail wheel and the main gear and pants.

My 6am wake up call is coming SOON so I'm hitting the sack.
I'll see what I can do tomorrow (I have a business trip until around 11pm, but we'll see) BUT Friday night it's on.... I should have the rest of my gear, and that means marathon build session!!!

Did you already glue the canopy on, or just set it on there? What'd you use? I'm thinking NOT canopy glue, that stuff will take a year to dry.

Huh. I'll probably just use the RC-56 then, I've got a bottle in the shop, I'll do it before bed tonight.

Sleepy, you just need a couple more kids to keep you running 24/7. Sleep is optional!

No, they do not supply a pre-drilled template, but when you make one, make it out of like .062 6061 or 7075 aluminum, and make the holes 1/4 in diameter. The Aeroworks template is nice, but it is no more accurate than marking and drilling. This is because the holes in the template are smaller pilot holes. As soon as you go to enlarge it to 1/4", the drill blades can catch a cross grain or knot and the hole can be off by as much as 1/16". With an aluminum template clamped in place, you can drill it to 1/4" in one step, and the drill will not walk at all. If you use blind nuts, you can make the template for a 5/16 hole or use a B&B 1/4 to 5/16 prop drill.

Is that grey paint or grey ultracote? If it's ultracote, you should have already made your decision, as you KNOW that stuff is going to get loose and wrinkle right up. I will be lightening up that area anyway, and then dusting it with a light coat of speckle paint.

Its gray paint.
So I was thinking I might add a lite dusting of speckel.

And I may cut a small section out as well.
