Progress!!
The other day I decided to go with cans. I called up Desert Aircraft and spoke to Bill Higgens, I asked if he knew which headers go with the MTD 75 cans. (I figured the plane was so new I'd be doing measurements and going back and forth a few times). Bill said "You need a 50mm drop, and we have them in stock." NICE! DA is always a pleasure to work with, and this time was no exception. The airplane was released 3 days ago, (at the time of the call) and they have all the info you need on file already. Anyways... Motor lines up and slapped in. Header's sized up and cans mounted. Its all in the manual and everything aligns perfectly.. easiest install I have ever done with a set of cans! ![]() Now I may actually make a front support for the cans eventually, but I thought I'd just go with the directions for now and see what happens.

Sleepy,
I have a question: Actually, several............ After looking at the pictures of all the stuff, inquiring minds want to know: What the hell do you do for a living? You rob banks or run a South American drug cartel? Did you marry into a mafia family? We have never seen such an outlay of stuff gathered in one place. (That wasn't called a "hobby shop!") The 260 looks like quite the deal. Hell, ya think Charles Lindberg was lucky making it across the big pond? You gotta be one lucky guy EVEN if your wife is super mad at you for the giant outlay of cash to fund this thing. I'll take up a collection for you and get you a Home Depot gift card. That way you can get you one of those pre-fab dog houses and one of those little 110 VAC A/C window units to keep it cool while you live there for the next few weeks! Let us know your progress. My son wants one of these over the Somenzini Python...... At least we know the wingspan and length on the 260! Right now I am winning the debate over which one to buy!:4: WT |

Just for the record, I work HARD for a living... does the name "Deuce Bigalow" mean anything to you guys?
![]() OK.. Ignition all buttoned up, Fromeco switch in place (SWEET BLUE lights in these now!!) and the supplied Deans connectors make life a breeze... way to go Fromeco Guys!! The airframe layout makes tucking the wires out of sight very easy. So Motor on, Cans in, Ignition and switch in. I'll be moving right along!

COWL MOUNTED!
Motor is dead in the center but still looks to have the proper right thrust. I may need to enlarge the cooling hole a bit, but then again there is a big hole in the fuse aft of the cans... I think both being open should be enough. Any thoughts?

Moving right along.
The new Fromeco Wolverine switch is two completely separate switches in one switch (and again it has the Bad Ass blue lights!) Along with (2) 5200 packs for the receiver I should be able to fly a whole weekend without charging. And since I'm at sea level I'll take the extra battery weight. Also I wanted to make sure I had plenty of juice for the Big Dog 8711's! So here some more shots!

I hit a wall.
The power expander I was going to use is the old style that won't take two reg inputs. ![]() Arrgghh. So I will have to get a new one. I'll get all the servos in tomorrow night! Still, man what a fun build!
