Default MAD MAX ROAST AT TUCSON SHOOTOUT?

OK fellas, I was watching a celebrity roast on Comedy Central and thought... how fun would it be to roast someone I know. Hmmmm, who could we roast at the Shootout? Seems like an obvious answer. And how about making it for a good cause?

Here's my proposal. How about we, the Flying Giants Brethren, organize and arrange for a "roast" of our very own Mad Max after hours one day at the Tucson Aerobatic Shootout? Now, I know that I personally have a few things I could "roast" Max about... but I'm sure there are several of you out there who know a lot more about him than me (Momo, Snap-A-Saurus, SEG, Tank, Boulder, Toro, etc...). What we could do, is put it up to a vote as to which charitable organization would benefit from the roast. Then, we charge each "roaster" a $1.00 fee per "roast" (meaning one roast line or "snap" would be a buck). You can lay down as many roasts as you wish, but it will cost you a $1.00 per each. Kinda like a dunk tank (hmmm, Max in a dunk tank). Following the roast, we take the money and donate it to whatever charity we choose in Max's name.

Sound like a good idea? Who is willing to step up and help? I need a Flying Giants "Big Gun" in on this one. Someone most everyone knows.

If it's a go, look for a charity "vote" thread in the Shootout Forum to follow. Please PM me if you have a good idea for which charity. It would be nice donate to one that has helped a FG brother or sister out.

No... a "roast" as Wilkpedia defines:

A roast, in North American English, is an event in which an individual is subject to publicly bearing insults, praise, outlandish true and untrue stories, and heartwarming tributes. It is seen as a great honor to be roasted, as the individual is surrounded by friends, fans, and well-wishers, who can receive some of the same treatment as well during the course of the evening. The party and presentation itself are both referred to as a roast. The host of the event is called the roastmaster. It is also known as a burn, as one is insulted (usually a skew on what said person spoke), various peers will call "Burn!" In short, it is both the opposite and the same as a "toast"

The "Roastmaster" would have to be the FG "Big-Gun" I mentioned. I'll be the point of contact and handle the venue, donations, sound system, etc...

This is one of the best ideas I've heard of in some time......I remember the "roast" of the past.
And they didn't have half the stuff as we do to roast Max.

Well Done...............

Bob Sadler would be the man to organize this. As we all know he has a way with words. I am sure he could come up with some great material. I wish I could be there. I would love to see this.

All the Roastmaster would have to do is be the man on the mic. I can organize it if need be. I could use some help though.

Haven't heard much out of Biff lately... is he still doing the Shootout?
