Default Nihm batteries- Anyone still using them?

Is any of you guys still using the Nihm batteries vs the Li-ions? I am trying to decide on which one, if it is really worth the extra dollars to switch over or not. I've always used the Nihms.

I saw somewhere that Jason Noll switched back to Nihm's..... I don't know if he still is using them or not though...

I use 'em in my glo's and profiles, Li-Po (Fromeco) in my big birds.

I'll only use NiMh or the new A123 cells. Take a look at this thread "http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/f...tml#post255840"

Make sure you go with a low impedence nimh cell capable of high discharge.

The thread also has some posts by Dick Hanson who has tested various systems extensively.

I use 2x5cell GP2000 NiMh on my 35% and a 4cell GP2000 on ignition (110cc twin). No regulators and no problems either. Also a quick 20min fast charge on each of the flight packs tops them up after 5 flights.

Just my preference

I have been using some nice low impedence Nimh's from Hangtimes but have since switched over to A123's...no regs..15 min from dead to full..can handle tons of amps..so far they have been great..at this point I wouldn't even consider investing with any system that needs regulators..

I'm still using 2 5-cell 2000 NiMh packs in my 35% Cap, but I've got a 2S 2200mah LiPo on the ignition, unregulated. Both work great for me... but I'll probably switch the flight packs to LiPo soon...

Me too. NoBS (www.hangtimes.com) really does have some great NiMH packs and I have been using them quite a bit lately. I love that I get great performance and I do not need regulators. The new Elite 1500 pack is a great pack wirh low impedence and high output and only weighs 3.7oz.
