Default Kill Switch for Gas CHI ignition

Hi you guys,

I have some old Futaba switch harnesses that might work as a kill switch for my Brillelli 26 that has C & H ignition.

Any suggestions?

Hello North, dont understand why no one responded to your post. I see no reason why the items you mentioned wont work well. Have had no luck with the plugs that come on C&H ignitions, soldered connectors will not handle the vibration very well. Hope this helps Jack

Thanks Jack for the reply.

I rigged the switch harness to pushed by a servo and that works OK. I wasn't pleased with how much oomph it took to push & pull the switch.

I went to the hardware store and bought a 69 cent light switch and took all the metal parts off. I drilled a hole in the toggle for the push rod & installed the light switch. This light switch is a cream puff to push/pull back & forth by the servo.

This might actually work.

I just bought a kill switch from RCU. A guy posts them over there for $24. Best money I ever spent. Save the weight of a servo. Its an optical kill switch so no mechanical parts to fail and still works to do its job if the RX dies. Weighs like 4 grams or something ridiculous. If your radio dies, your engine will be shut off as well which could potentially save a life or make your plane salvageable.

Thanks much for the replies. The GP Giant Big Stik had a successful maiden flight last night. My cheapo (light switch) kill switch works like a charm.
