Flew the maiden today and got in 5 flights. Keep in mind that I set it up for IMAC not 3D.
It flew very nice but I did have some gusty wind. Typical coupling with the rudder and a pull to the canopy on downlines. I will mix for those tomorrow. The rudder has good authority . I measured CG before going and they list 3" at the wing tip as a starting point. I had 2.5" with my setup. I flew this way anyway and found that it worked out very well. Very little push needed while inverted and the landings were some of my best. All three pointers as if the balance was good. I am a little disappointed about the AUW as I came in at 23#. It is advertised at 20-21. 23# gives me poor vertical. I will no need to start looking for weight and experiment with props. I am now using a Xoar 24x10 but may give a Vess 26A a try. This thing was built very stock so I don't know where the extra weigh is coming from I'll give more after a full weekend of flying. Here are a few field pictures. Ryan I promise you some pics of the two planes together but it will probably be next week. KingAir Guy I listed the set up in the beginning. I will show some final pictures of set up later but let me know if you have specific questions. Mark |

Wow, 23lbs, I was hoping for the lower range of 20lbs or even 19lbs with the DA-85. I am very interested to see where you think the added weight came from. I'm looking for a 3D machine, I already have my IMAC plane.

Managed to get in 5 flights on Sat. Five more on Sunday and about eight total on Monday.
The plane will go vertical enough for the Basic sequence so I will get by for now. The winds were much better Sunday evening and I was very excited about the way the plane flew. Monday I had a problem with spinner clearance as I had not spaced the engine out far enough so I took the spinner off. Well that didn't help as on first start up the prop hit the cowl and knocked a small chunk of gelcoat off the cowl. This caused me to go home and add a fender washer to the engine spacing. Problem solved. Of coarse I should have done this to begin with. I think I am ready for next weekends IMAC. I will be following UP later with pictures of my set-up. I am very happy with this plane. The covering is excellent. The build quality is excellent. The paint quality is excellent. The flying characteristics are great. Instructions are very good. Supplied hardware is the best. Looks great and went together very quickly. I found no flaws other that being 2-3# over advertised weight but I guess that is normal. Mark |

Try a mejzlik 24x10 or Pt 24x10. The Vess 26A is a bit much for the 70. I ran Mejzlik 24x10s on my 3W 70 with good success

Hello!
Gents I received my Aeroworks 75cc Extra 260 today and I was completely blown away at how nice this bird is. I looked over the plane and I did not find a single flaw. I have seen alot of Pro Built planes and this ranks with the best bar none. Let me also mention that the box was reinforced with plywood on the outside for extra protection. If you plan on buying one then place that call! You will not be disappointed. I will post some pics of my build soon! Regards, Perry |

I just got mine in yesterday. Thank goodness for the packing. My fuse box looked like it hd been around the world on horse back. All the corners were worn and there was a big tear in the outer box. I was sick. I opened her up and found the plywood between the outer brown box and the inner white box. Even the ply had some damaged but the plane was in great shape. Best packing I have ever seen, granted I am new to gassers. I will be using the DA-85 and rear ext can setup. Looking at JR 8711 servos? and have a smartfly system already. Almost there. Just lacking servos, bats and build time now. How many mah will I be needing with two mains and one on ign? I am looking to do 3-5 flights at a time.

I would look at the TBM Li-Ions or the Fromeco 2600 (x2) for the reciever and one for your ignition, and maybe the MPI miricale switches with the regulators. It's a good way to go and you have the fail safe built in.
You can check it out and get a lot of good info from their website!http://troybuiltmodels.com
