I have both, and I think Realflight G3.5 is better hands down. There is a ton more you can edit in G3.5 than you can in Aerofly Pro Deluxe. Also, there are a few things wrong with Aerofly. Ex: The planes in aerofly dont stall quite right. To me it seems as though they easily settle to a straight vertical downline from a tailslide, instead of that quick snappy motion the plane makes in real life. G3.5 shows this extremely well. Another example is that the planes seem to fly too slow in 3D aerobatics. They seem to fly at a walking pace or slower.

get what your friends have so you can fly together and swap planes etc..

AFPD all the way...... They both should help strenghthen your skills. I dont like the way the g3 planes explode if you come 1 " from an object. For example if you are in a hover on AFPD and touch the rudder on the ground you can safely pull away and continue flying. this is true of a real foamie at low speed or impact, g3 the tail would break off in the lightest of touches.
either way they are just a stepping stone to improve our flying skills but in reality they wont help you figure out your lateral balance on your real plane etc. etc. , so just enjoy the experience...

Its probably setup I downloaded the dalton for G3 from here and you can ruder touch all day and unless its really hard it stays intact. You can even fly by knife edge and hit a wing hard, then hemple it after it breaks off

I also have both G3.5 and AFPD and i think G3.5 wins easy, the planes in AFPD are far too floaty and they dont stall properly,G3.5 on the other hand does what you would expect in just about every situation and with the amount of adjustable variables in the flight models i think you would be hard pressed to find better.

i have AFPD, G3.5, and FSOne and I feel G3.5 is the best. It has the most features, best user interface, and the physics feel more real than AFPD. I use to think AFP was great when G2 was around, but these days AFPD feels too fake.

As for the physics, I'm all about G3. The planes seem to be modeled and adjusted very closely to the real ones. Plus, they have a great selection of 3rd party free add-ons ![]() http://www.knifeedge.com/forums/downloads.php? |

I have AFPD and G3(.5) and have not used either one in a LONG time. Why? they both suck. I'd rather fly in real life.
![]() They are pretty good to learn the basics and stick movements though...

I recently purchased G4. I do not recommend it if you are using the sim for practice. All the added features are "bling", mostly flying off water stuff.

I think that the AFPD is better the G3.5 have them both the AFPD is more realistic then the G3 in airplanes
but... the G3 is better in heli's in AFPD we have a realistic planes like the krill katana's and 3W yak 54 and there are many and many... but I love them both they are great simulators and they both give me a lot of conficance in practices and when I fly for real it's better then without a simulator... bye everone 3Dman |
