Thanks, but I dont need it. LOL. I was taught by Catholic Nuns. Ha!!.... The knuckle busting from Sister Mary Elephant affect my typing...LOL. THe 106 was lark, I had it, I used it. Now it going to a Gonzo Fun Huckin' Cub...like that Badass J-3 hovering....\ THe GT-80 , that is reco'ed motor in the manual, is heavier than the 3W 106...so what the hell. Yeah it sticks out, looks like a hot rod, 'cus it is. SUPER, emphasis on SUUUUUPER ,Cub. It balanced with the batts in the middle on the CG. ARF-y kinda problems, nothing catastrophic...pitch the weird pitch Phillips heads, CF tube the control rods, Re-glue the gear and strut mounts, reinforce this and that. The tire and landings gear are OK, one of my inflator valves failed on the first trip for motor running at the field. I went and used 6inch inflatable Du-Bro balloon tires. I think the fancy shock absorbing gear from Wallace or Robart would be nice for those loooong wheel touch and goes. The 106 will be great for floats and Aluminum snow skis on the balloons tires. Blast off!!!!!!! A G-62 or other 4 pound motor will need major ballast , or other equipment stuffed up front...cameras, smoke system, brick,...LOL. No doubt the POWER of a 50 or 40 class would fly it,....after it is balanced somehow. Lighten up and it will float away... I was putting at 6 knots or thereabouts... |

It flew aerobatics quite niceley but as a Cub would do it and not an Edge LOL. But then again , a helicopter is the better one for hovering... Roger

I love the Nelitz Cub. Built to scale for sure....dowel rods, cage, webbing...just beautiful, and yes, with that one, it would be crime not to use scale or near scale power...
This ARF is just that, an ARF, a fun ship that I can blast around like an LT-40 on a O.S. .46 in the park. Gotta get to the field. .....I will get some one wheel touch and goes on tape today... |

Anybody consider the BUSA 1/3 scale J-3 or Super Cub?
I'm kinda toying with the idea of clipping the wings on a J-3 and sticking a DA85 up front. Seem it would be a fun combo. Add smoke and have some fun with smokey tumbles. ![]() But I wonder if the DA85 would fit completely under a J-3 cowl.

DA-85 would fit fine under the J-3 cowl.
I did, and continue to covet the Busa 1/3 Cub's. Time and space do not permit me to make that kind of commitment right now, but later on for sure. This ARF fit the bill for me, I was drooling at every Pic of a 1/3 BUSA. I did not go for the WM J-3 1/3 ...the top longeron was missing , making it a flat top....too much out of scale for me, then. I saw the ad for this one, and decided in 10 seconds to order one. ARFY BARFY problems abound, I just found, of course more glue joints that need attention , after really whippin' her around today. Wallace gear and Dubro tires for sure. Our 'glass guy in the club is splittin' my cowl, so we can baffle it, and I will be tapping the mufflers for the smoke system, and installing the towing release, also. More video from this morning wil get posted later. |

A hovering cub? SAD. This thing should be flown like a full size airplane, (maybe with a few loops and spins mixed in.) 106cc? How do you get the thing to land? What pitch prop are you using to slow it down? Are all the hinges pre glued?

bosshoss richen up that low end about one to two screw driver blades...
that sure looks different to see a Cub hovering. Cubs have been treated like a gran daddy type of flying, the more we start to see them hover we'll get use to it...

![]() I guess I should fly my Yak in a scale manner and NEVER hover? ![]() Take it easy, it is just a model for fun and it lands just like any other airplane we fly. 28x10 prop and the hinges are factory glued. Jim |

My Super Cub came with metal hinges pre-glued, I think they are stainless. I cant scratch them.
I did use a titanium bit to drill and single-pin them through. LOL,,..yes , I am nuts. I HATE equipment failures, and get nervous when too much is done by the factory. It always seems something that you say to " Ah, it must have been done right, I will check it later.." that bites you in the buttocks. Hey Craven, I missed your last post, who/what are you pickin' on now, bud?? LOL. As far as the over-motor thing, I only did it , 'cus I had the motor, if I had a GT-80 or 75 twin I would have used it. The good news is , my 106 powered Super Cub will be unlimited aerobatic with FLOATS!!! When I build the BUSA 1/3 l-4 I have dreamed of, it will have a Pegasus. That is a few winters away though. Until then ....I am going Cub Flying......Giants Style..... |

I was thinking this Super Cub with a 3W212B4 would be sweet.

I have never seen a full scale Yak hover at an airshow. At the flying field for models, they just look like toys.

This is the World Model 1/3 scale with clipped wimg (120 in) I built Balsa USA floats for it and it has a DA100 with 8611a all around. The quality is good and with over 50 3D flights it has been trouble free. Also I diden't have to install those stupid little fake cylinder heads on the sides of the cowl....Hey, It ain't for everyone!
