Well - it is all over and we are back in Brisbane after a hectic last two days travel.

On Sunday after leaving the competition field we went back to DA in Tucson and had pizza while stripping down cleaning and packing up all models for transport back to Australia. After saying all the "goodbyes" we finally rolled into bed at 1:30am on Monday morning - tired but exhilerated with the result.

Monday morning after breakfast and a decent coffee at Starbucks we hit the road for LA arriving back in LA at 6pm. We offloaded the model boxes at LAX and then reruned the veicles to AVIS before checking in the luggage in - everything went according to plan with no hitches altho if there is one negative about the whole experience - something needs to be done to LAX to bring up to standard with the rest of the USA trip - it was very disorganised - however having said that there were visible signs of an upgrade in progress.

The trip back on the flying kangaroo was uneventful and Howie Mick Chrisb Troy and Steve seemed to have had a decent sleep. The model boxes have arrived back in Brisbane without any further visible damage - will open them this weekend - and reassemble the planes in readiness for Coota Shoota in November.

Next year is already being planned - Mum has given us the thumbs up - and she may even come with this time......

What an experience and a big THANK YOU - to all those people we met at the competition that made us feel so welcomed and made the experience for Team Australia such a positive experience - it was great to meet you all and hopefully we will all be back next year.

To the organisers and those her worked tirelessly in the background to make the event so enjoyable for us all - "you Guys and Gals Rock".

Thanks also to "PITBITCH" Mick (RCDART) who has worked so hard with Chrisby leading up to and during the comp - Howie (Desert Aircraft Australia) for the backing to make Chrisby's goal a reality - and thank you to ALL the supporters all over the world.

SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR............................

Hey guys,

Wow!!!! WHAT AN EVENT!!! had an awesome event, those americans know how to throw a contest! Very consistent judging i must say. Met heaps of people, and got to compete against all the big names, what an honour! Unfortunate about the freestyle but i still had fun. So its all good! Next event is Coota! woo hoo!!

For those interested here is the vid of my 2nd round in freestyle where the plane touched out of a flat spin. Howie and Mick did a great job gluing the undercarriage plate after the first round as you can see.

Must say a very special thanks to Howie and Mick, they worked over time to get my plane back together after I damaged it (multiple times). Thankyou very much guys. And Mick also did a great job as my caller. Much appreciated! Now i guess i'll get some calling practice for him before Coota

Welcome back to strayla guys!

ChrisB, awesome effort mate, congrats! That blender to flat spin was almost a flat spin of death!! At the same time if you had pulled that one off ....... well lets just say that would have been something very special!

Hope to see you in Coota.

Welcome home guys.

Congrats Chris and Troy on your results, some of that freestyle flying was simply awesome, best I've seen. Oh so close to pulling off the wildest blender known to man

Welcome bak to Aussie soil guys! Glad you're all back safely. How about a couple of pics of the trophies?

Thanks for the freestyle link ChrisB. Mrs Doc and the Docettes loved it too! Great 4-point landing, haven't seen one that delicate before!
