Reza, I might have missed it but does this plane come with wing bags of any sort, or has there been any companies that are going to make wingbags to fit this plane specifically?

Very good question as it is mine as well! Plane doesn't come with wing bags. I was looking at Wingtote small wing bag that fits this plane but I need to buy two of them! I'm sure with the popularity of this plane, some companies might consider doing a wing bag for it. However, I need to ask Quique to see how he's been handling his so far maybe there is one already in the works that I am not aware of!

Once I get more info, I will keep you guys posted!

Thank you,
Reza

Reza, I was able to see this plane fly personally this weekend at FLY FOR TOTS and I am extremely impressed. Now I know that QQ could make a pizza box look exciting but this plane looks like it flys great! Very crisp and locked in at all aspects of the flight envelope. I can not wait to get my hands on one! Your pictures are holding many of us over until Santa in the Brown suit arrives at my door with boxes, Keep em coming!

How about using two 86"er bags.

OK Guys, sorry for the couple of days delay. I was attending FG Huck Fest! Having a good time, totally forgot about this thread

Cowl Installation:

Cowl comes in two pieces. Cowl installation is probably not more than 10-15 minutes! Lower section will be bolted to the fuse using the L brackets provided.

Upper section will be screwed to the lower cowl through mid section and blind nuts that are already inserted for you.

So the only thing you need to do is to line up the L brackets with the lower cowl and fuse.

To do this screw the L bracket using locktite on them to the fuse but don't tighten them so you can't move them! Then try to mount the lower piece cowl to the L bracket, line up L brackets as necessary and tighten them.

Mid section of the cowl uses 8 screws (4-40) to join the upper section. There are 12 screws for L brackets and lower section of the cowl.

Please see attached pictures!

Next will be engine installation with and without Cans! I will go through Can installation step by step to help those whom this may be their first Canister installation.

Gentlemen,

As you know you can use all three kinds of exhaust systems on this plane.
  • Canisters
  • Stock Mufflers
  • Tuned pipes
I will cover Cans and Stock Mufflers but would like to know how many of you actually are interested or are willing to set up yours with tuned pipes such as Greeve Pipes. I have gotten 4-5 inquires so far.

They really add more power to the plane but I guess it really depends at what altitude you live and what you want to do with the plane.

I would appreciate it if you guys let me know how you would like to set up your own plane and why?

I will try to cover the Canister set up tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks,
Reza

I plan on just installing stock mufflers. I am aiming for the simple/lightest setup for this bird. For 3d and freestyle applications ( which is what I plan on using this plane for) I prefer to hear my motor. My Yak on cans has always been very "scary quiet" on the low end and that for me increases the pucker factor. They also seem more jumpy and harder to lock in torque rolling etc... My two cents..

I too have cans on my 102" Yak and would like to try stock mufflers with smoke on the bipe. Do you think the stock mufflers are a better choice for a smoke setup? I am not hard set on any muffler setup in particular yet, any advantage to one over the other with reguard to smoke? As I understand it, the stock mufflers and the canisters are about the same for power with the cans quieter. I am leaning towards a bit more noise with that smoke for the total effect on that low knife edge pass! Reza, can you share your thoughts on the plus and minuses as you see it for cans vs. stock? SMOKE ON!!!

Are those the MTW 75's?

I'd like to try some BMB cans personally myself.

MTW75, 50mm drop with flex header.
No need to cut the header at all.

Correction to canister installation:

Do not cut Teflon coupler or header!

Force the Teflon coupler into the header until there is only 1/4” of Teflon coupler between the can and header that is not supported byeither. Since it would be very difficult to push the Teflon coupler that far over the header, you need to use
your heat gun/torch and heat up the Teflon coupler and push it over the
header. It is extremely important that there is only 1/4” of Teflon coupler
not supported by Can and the header. Do not cut the header or the
coupler. Length of both pipes including header should be identical.

Clamp the Teflon couplers to the headers and slid them in the tunnel.
The exit of the left can looking from pilot’s view would be more forward
than the left can.

Reza,
Great pic's. I see the stock mufflers are a pound and a quarter lighter than the cans. Hope you are going to tell me that the stock mufflers make better smoke, cost less and have no power loss over the cans. O.K. I'm back to reality and look forword to your updates.
