ok guys, i have a bit of a problem. i want to use a 4stroke for my KMP husky bush plane, and the 90 size is the ticket here.. so the debate is do i go with Saito, or OS, i had the saito 82 once and was very good, but im using the 90 OS 2s right now and REALLLy like it.. so tell me what you think!

4 stroke for great sound. A 1.20 four stroke should have about the same power as 90 2 stroke. The 90 four stroke won't haul butt as fast as the 2 stroke. I fly a 1/4 scale Stinson 108 with a OS 1.20 it sounds great. I thought it would be much faster than it is with a 1.20. I think it might hit 60 mph if I am lucky. But sounds and look great.

Wow !! One vote and the poll is 100% Saito ! They are both good engines. I like the lack of head gasket and bolts plus the look of the dual valve covers on the Saito.

Dude, get the saito 125 and be done with it.
I think the Saito 100 is even lighter than the .91 Saito and The 125 is the same weight or lighter than that. I had a saito 100 for a while and it ran so dependably it was unreal. |

i have the OS 91, it runs fricken sweet, once its running, starts easy with ltos of compression. but it has broken 2 valave springs, and needs more mantenence(imo).but i have way better things with saito. so thats y i recomend the saito.

I had the same issue a month ago and ended up getting the O.S. so I had to vote for it. It has been flawless so far. A few people at my field have had the Saito 1.25's and were not happy with them. I am not sure why so I can't say either way. I have heard that they are fuel guzzlers.

thanks for the input... this is a supercub like plane not a yak! hahah i dont really want unlimited vertical.. its more about flying on the wing not the prop with this project, tho power enough to use floats is a must,, i have the first mock up pic on the camera i will start a build thread soon, but heres a pic of the plane in question ,, theres a guy on rcgroups that has a os 90 4s and says it pulls great.. i will check things out, but will likly go saito for the great looks since im gonna side mount it..

Thay are both great engines,My vote would be to spend the extra 30.00 for the 125,and another 7.99 for all the red locktite to hopefully keep the muffler on

locktite doesnt work well at the 4 stroke temps tighten the muffer when its hot right after a hot run and it will never come loose.. the copper rtv can help in addition to that.. BTW the 125 is 4 oz heavyer than the 100 and $60 more.. but at 25oz weighs the same as the os91 |
