Wow. You've got a light one. Mine weighs a smidge over 18lbs with no smoke system or wheel pants. Single 1950 Nimh for receiver/servos and a 1400 nicad for ignition. I did add some gear box reinforcment/glue though. It still flies very light! My only complaint is the horizontal stab and wing aren't in perfect alignment.

The maiden was today.
Flew excellent and pulled the best landing of my life.
Hoovers at 1/2 throttle and pulls out like a train at full throttle.
Light , crisp, and flys like it is on rails.
It floats great, the landing was slow and easy.
Two clicks of right, and two clicks of up.
I'll do a check over tonight on everything.
I do want to put some washers on the ball links of the servo horns as a saftey so that they can't pop off.
I am very, very happy.

Yep, Love it.
Flys great. I can do slow, smooth, perfect three point landing with this plane.
I did have on issue though.
On taxi back after landing I hit a ground hog hole dead on, and blew the right landing gear clean off.
Never the less also broke a $25.00 prop.
Well on futher inspection, the fiberglass landing gear ( on the bend at the fuse ) was delaminating on both left and right gear.
I never had a hard or even bouny on landing.
I didn't have any damage to the plane other then where the landing gear mounts.
I cut out the exhaust tunnel, plated the area with ply and installed a new gear mount. I then had TNT landing gear make me a custom bent one piece aluminum gear. This turned out perfect, super strong and didn't even damage any of the color portion of the covering. I used a little bit of white to patch the bottom and you don't even know anything ever happened.
So now, it's better then new.

Yes this is my first DL-50.
I did have it in another plane, so it isn't as new as the plane.
I plan on buying another DL-50 in the future.
Not one complaint about it.
Starts easy, idles real smooth, transitions great, and pulls like a train.
3 gallons through it, 40:1 Penzoil aircooled, 7350 woth a JFX 22 X 8.
I just got a Vess 22B , but haven't tried it yet.

Do you have any higher res photos that we could use on the East R/C website?

Thanks,

I will send you the original pic. It is 1.39 meg. If that is not good enough, I can set my camera for higher res and take another for you.

That plane is super light. Is your scale calabrated? If so, that is awesome!

Awesome, mine is lighter than that. Mine is just over 16 pounds. His smoke and power expander most likely makes his heavier than mine.
