I went on the Wildhare site last night, and noticed that they have added two more color scheems, and changed it from an 85" bird to an 87" bird. I know it may sound strange that 2" would make a difference, but with everyone else making their 50CC birds 87", it was a limiting factor in my decision to buy the Wildhare. Can anyone fill me/us in on the upgrade??? Were there any other changes to the plane??? Any information would be appreciated!

According to this post http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6214670/tm.htm in the WH forum on RCU, the only other difference is that a strap has been added to secure the wheels better.
Tom also says in this thread http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6360764/tm.htm that the increase in wingspan was purely for marketing reasons. Cheers Stephen |

Thanks! Not sure how I missed that on RCU. I guess my opening statement justifies his marketing strategy, going to 87".

The only other change involved correcting a minor bug, the tabs on the hatch were a but too short. Minor stuff, plus addition of the new color schemes.
Oh, I almost forgot, all the new planes will come with wing bags. TF |

Even I knew it was silly! I guess I am the typical male that has been told his whole life that size does matter!

Wing area is over rated. I actually tried to measure the wing span on my yak, SD 30% and I got closer to 85".

Stainless, beside checking on wing span did you try to see how close is that 30%? It realy is close to 27%

Many ARF sellers play very fast and loose with their scale % claims. Anything around 120" is said to be 40%, regardless of the size of the original plane.
There's a thread running on another site about a SD models Giles G202 that's said to be 43% at 122 inches. A real G202 has a wingspan of 264", 264*.43=113.52. That plane is actually 46% scale, not 43. I note this because we (Wild Hare) have a new G202 coming soon that actually is 40% scale, it has a wingspan of 106" and is designed for a 100cc engine. The same 40% applied to a Yak 54 would be 128.48 inces. Big difference because there's a huge difference in the size of the full scale planes. A 30% Yak 54, if accurate, would be 96.36" wingspan. Wasn't there supposed to be a 100cc Extra in the works? With pocket hinges, base on the 40%.
