FlyingGiants just received the Flex Innovations Cessna 170 PNP Night-Edition for review! Let's take a look at everything that's included.

The Night Edition Cessna 170 PNP Gets Examined Up Close

Ok, I know I've been touting the new Cessna 170 PNP from Flex Innovations as of late, but I can't help myself! I really love the looks of this classic aircraft that's actually a formidable 3D machine too! I received my 170 PNP Night Edition today, and put together this quick unboxing report, along with a video.

The Cessna 170 was packaged extremely well from the factory with no damage to be seen; ample tape cardboard, plastic bags, and foam are used to cradle the Cessna as it makes it's journey overseas and to your front door. After a quick removal of all the components, I got to work photographing everything; let's get started!

The Aura 8

One item I'm very excited about utilizing is the Aura 8 advanced flight control system from Flex Innovations. It comes standard inside the Cessna 170 and acts as a gyro stabilizer with multiple settings. By using the Aura Configuration Tool software on PC, I can adjust the gains, flight modes, and many more settings. The Aura 8 can be turned off from the transmitter for au naturel flying as well.

Stay Tuned to FG For More

I'm starting the build today, and judging by the completeness of the airplane, this won't take long! Keep your eyes peeled to the homepage for FlyingGiants for the full flight review coming very soon.

Received mine this afternoon and started assembling. The top hatch did not want to come off after removing the screw. I spoke with Seth at F. I. and he said it should not require any effort to remove so I slid a wide exacto blade down the seam at the rear of the hatch and gently worked it loose. The foam was just stuck to itself, that's all.

I'm going to go ahead and add the tie wraps to the plastic landing gear covers as stated in the landing gear addendum:

looks nice, but I can't get to the $500.00 valuation, I was thinking it would be $275-300.00

$275 for a RTF giant-scale licensed version of the Cessna 170, complete with full interior LED's, exterior nav lights, installed motor, prop, ESC, BEC, metal geared servos (including flap servos) and with a greater than 1:1 power to weight ratio?
