I have one flying, LOve it I am new to 3d but this plane is docile with the right xpo I am running 40% on 3d rates with 60 fx and brison pitts one hitec 334 oz on rudder and 164oz hitec metal gear on everything else. love the plane set it up on the forward cg the fx is awesome on fuel ecconomy plane weighs 10.5 with duralites and spektrum 2.4. 18 min flights climbs out os hover great flat spins easily and landing are moderate for a plane like this. I like it so muckn futch I am thinking of doing another in gas after I finish my yak.

Could someone with this plane please measure the diameter of the cowl where the cylinder head is located. I'm trying to figure out if my Moki 2.10 will fit under the hood. I looked up the specs on the O.S. 1.60 last night and my moki is about 7/8" taller than it. Height on the Moki is 4.68" from crank center line to top of head. So, I figure if the cowl is about 10" dia. it should fit.
Thanks, Doug |

Here is mine so far with Da-50 and 3" stand offs. I am working on new cowl and dummy radial to finish it off. I had a little slip and fall with the org cowl as you can see. I used 1.5" swb arms on 8711's all the way around. I mounted one servo in the tail for rudder.

I would love to see some 3d video on the 160 in the GP SU31. I have the SU31 with a 46CC in it. My son has the 160 in a 120 BalsaNova, and almost ripped the wings off it.

Has anyone flown one with a gas engine yet? I am seriously considering one, but wanted to put a gas engine in it, and was wondering what the flight characteristics were with a heavier gas powerplant. I want to do some 3D with it.

I have about 2 gallons of fuel through mine now, I love it, only thing that I could really compain about was the cheesy tailwheel assembly, get rid of it and put a leaf spring style on and fly the crap out of it, you'll love it!

Well... I got my Sukhoi in today, and ran to the hobby shop to blow a paycheck. I'm going to run it on my Futaba 6EX 2.4 with 5645's all around including a dual servo rudder. I ended up buying a new DLE55 for it seeing that it is almost a full pound lighter than the fuji they suggest, and a few grams lighter than the DL50. This will be my first attempt at building a gasser, and I'm excited as heck. I am hopeful this plane will turn some heads, as it will be the first sukhoi 31 in our club.
I've been flying the heck out of it for the last month on the GP4.5 sim, and I'm completely blown away and can't find another plane on the sim that performs blenders and snaprolls as clean and crisp as this plane. Truly amazing on the sim...hopefully it performs as good IRL.

Just weighed my Sukhoi with a Fuji43cc. Comes in at 14- 7/8 pounds. I thought it would be heavier as I am using dual RX's and batteries(2000ma 5 cell ea.) Still getting used to it. Just mounted an Xoar 20x10, the 20x8 was turning at 7300 rpm. Got cold again here in B.C. last weekend was 15 degrees C. shirt only weather in the sun:-)
