Default RC Field Location - GPS Coordinate Database

I decided I'd try to post my most current Excel file here in this .ZIP file. This is the same data I have for downloading on my MSN website, EXCEPT - it's the entire thing in one file rather then broke down by AMA Dist like I have to do on my website. This is also the file I use to maintain my Google Earth file.

So what does this file contain you might ask - Well to begin with it has the location of the middle of the RC Club's runway in Latitude Longitude, decimal degrees, NAD83, as well as the elevation, name of the Club, closest city/town, State, and Country. You continue to the right from there and it has the AMA Dist and Charter number if that applies, the Club's website link, two different links of sat imagery and a weather link. Continuing on, I have tried to capture the number of runways and runway surface type. The last 4 columns are whether I've been able to determine whether there are facilities for Control Line, Fly Combat?, Float Area, etc. Last one is when I added or modified the data.

If this has any interest I'll continue to upload a new updated Excel file more often then I do on my website as one zip file is much easier to create rather then all of the AMA Dist files, Non-AMA file and the International file.

I'm not sure how many times I'll be able to EDIT and UPLOAD a new ZIP file to this post, but as long as I can I will. Just look below for the latest Update Date.

New RC Coordinates Zip File Uploaded on - March 19th, 2009
Hope some of you enjoy it.

Later and Good Flying To You All.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I just uploaded a new Master Coordinates file. I wish when you edited a post that alone would put it back in the forum as if a reply had been posted. Ah Well...... I will also be posting a new update file to Google Earth tonight. Hope you enjoy them.

Here is a link to the Google Earth file if your interested.

Glad you guys liked it. Just something I've been working on for about 8 years now I guess. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger as more people use it and and send me their RC Fields to add if I don't have them already.

Just uploaded an update today, 10-30-2007 of the Zip File

Here are the coordinates for the Gilbertsville,NY Polo Field where we fly and hold events. It's an open AMA field and all we ask is that you leave it as clean or cleaner than you found it.
Here are the coordinates for the Flying Field at Gilbertsville:

N 42 degrees 28.377'

W 075 degrees 18.396'

great job! my field is there however it was still under the old club name, the Hardin County Flying Colors is now Hardin County Radio Controlled Modelers. its the only one just north east of elizabethtown kentucky, no big deal if you dont fix, just had to say it. i wonder if theres a way to make your own rc plane icon, i notice the ones used are the same as the full scale airports.. just an idea,

PITVIPER - Thanks, these are the kind of updates I like to keep doing. Just makes the database better and better. I'll get it changed at the same time I add Stinger's field. I tried some different icons in Google, but they didn't stick for some reason. I did color code them according to AMA district's though and that seems to be coming through, but really is noticeable only if you've got the whole U.S. in view at one time.

Glad you like the data. I'll also change it in the master Excel database file and post it soon as well.

Thangs again guys.

pitviper51 - I'm not sure about the search capabilities of GE off-line. I have what I call the master as this zipped up excel file. You upload it directly into programs like MSN's Streets and Trips. I also have 5 files that I have it seperated into for use in Magellan GPS's. Then, there is always the GE file. It's actually been popular enough that GE has inserted it into the GE download layers in the Favorites folder, so now anybody who downloads GE automatically get's the points. It's just a matter of whether they turn them on and then happen to run onto one of the little yellow icons they've used.
