Great thing you are doing. You could also send a note to your elected official and tell them that they should be doing this as well. These young men and women are out there in terrible conditions giving all they have. They don't even get decent pay. Lets get those letters going.

Thanks for your response canavanbob. We really need to keep this fundraiser thread on track. I understand what you are saying but, right now we are strictly looking for donations from FG members. Thanks in advance for your concern and understanding.
Now keep those donations coming! |

Off to a great start!
I want to emphasize that I will NOT be showing the amounts donated. So if a buck is all you can do, that's great! The guys who do more than $100.00 will be singularly hailed in this thread. |

Here are a few items I received from the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund as well as an email from Ms. Becky Campbell, Chairman.
Please check these out and see if it's a cause you might be interested in helping out. Super Dave "Dear Dave, It was a pleasure speaking with you yesterday and again, thank you for your service in the Air Force and for allowing my family and myself to live our lives in Freedom. As discussed, I am attaching some other literature about our organization for your review. We are in the midst of finalizing our most recent financial awards and will be releasing information about our Fall 2007 College Scholarships as well, which you will be able to view on the website sometime within the next month...we try to wait until all the recipients have received their awards. Our financial awards for the 1st quarter of 2007 is not showing on the website still as I have been dealing with a family medical emergency, however, I hope to be able to update the awards section or our site very soon. We appreciate all that you and the other members of the Flying Giants are doing to help us continue providing emotional and financial support to our military families. When a family from within your area submits and application and a recommendation for an award is made by our Grant Committee, if you and the family agree, we would like to ask you to make the award personally. If this is something you may be interested in, please let me know and I will include you on our list of representative partners. Have a wonderful week, Becky Campbell, Founder/CEO" |
