Here's 2 of the "bigger" planes that were in the neighborhood Saturday.

I had a great time and The folks at RDRC should get a big "Thank You" from all of the others that attended.

I cannot believe I missed it this year. It looks like a huge success. Great Job to RDRC and ALL of the hard work. I cannot wait for more photos and the all important announcement on how much was raisedf for the 2007 charity Victory Junction Gang!

What a great weekend! It was really an honor to be a part of such a worthwhile event. The entire RDRC crew must be commended for running such a well organized show. Over 200 registered pilots! Thanks so much to Robert Vess, Larry Lewis, Bob Richards and family, Fred Midgett and family and all of the participating RDRC members for their great hospitality. Count us in for next year's event!

Oh, and I got the message loud and clear-OUTLAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone... I came on Sunday and I have to say, it was very well run. I was plane less, (which kills me), but had a great time.

RDRC did an excellet job to keep things moving and entertaining for everyone. The sponsors did an excellet job to represent themselves and our hobby, while keeping the reason for the event in check. The event wasn't about the people flying or the spectators or the sponsors... it was about helping Victory Junction Gang Camp... and that felt good to be a part of.

I really look forward to next year and hope to be there for the RDRC IMAA event next month.

Thank you.

Dick - those are some great pics of our awesome full-scale fly-by planes. The hair on my arms stood up when that Merlin roared by! And I've acutally been fortunate to fly with Jeff in the Stearman. You know, if you look closely, you can see the tailwheel doors are open on the Mustang. That's a few more knots once he gets those closed up.........

Two of our full-scale airplanes also served as part of the giant charity raffle each day. On Saturday, Jeff Foley (Stearman PT-17) and Mark Glazer (RV-8) offered scenic rides in their respecitve aircraft to lucky winners drawn in the afternoon.

Mark Farmer of Rocky Mt., NC won the Stearman ride but selflessly "gave" it to Miss Alayna Chandley of Claremont, NC. And my son, Jay Vess, won the ride with Mark (pics of Mark's plane are below). This was Jay's first light plane ride and he loved it! Both airplanes made their way over the RDRC field late in the day and Jay managed to snap the following pics as they circled the field. You can see the huge scope of this event even though it was late and many people had already left for the evening.

Note that Mark was also able to return Sunday and donated yet another fun ride to a lucky winner. RDRC would like to thank Mark and Jeff for these memorable contributons to the 2007 Fly-for-Tots!
