Hi everyone! I live at 6800' and regularly fly when it is 80-90 degrees out, giving me a density altitude of over 9000'
. I'd love suggestions for a 50cc airframe for mild 3d and pattern flying and also engine suggestions-- we lose up to 30% of our power here!![]() I currently have an Aeroworks 120 size Yak 54 with an OS 160FX. It's not fully broken in, but I'm getting about 8500 RPM with a APC 18x6w on 20% nitro Wildcat which gives nice but not exceptional power--my little electrics blast off much faster. I would say I hover about 80% power and SLOOOWLY climb out from there. Thanks! |

Thanks-- they look great. How about an engine? Should I stick with the DA, or maybe a 3W 55? How about the Evolution 58?

i think the SD 30%yak and evo58 - why??? - the yak has the wing and the new generation is light and the 58 will give you the power - but you need that factory tuned pipe as it really works for hp - i think its a great combo!!! check it out

I would go with the Airwild 260 (in my nonsponsored opinion). The plane's very light and flies best of all the 50cc's i've flown.

sorry in my sponsored opinion - but still true - the yak remains an awesome flier because it has such a big wing and will float even with the heavier 58 engine - i flew my yak with a DA50 and a ZDZ50ng both are fine engines which i still use in many other applications its just that in the yak it has the space for the bigger engine and it makes it perform just so much better - again only my humble sponsored pilots opinion.

Who is SD? Do they have a website? I did a search, and only found someone on RC Universe forums selling them.

I'd look in to a QQ 86" Yak. You can stick with a DA 50 with no problems, but BME is coming out with a 52cc that's lighter and more powerful. Might call Keith and see if it's going to be out in time.

Airwild 260 is the best out there, light weight (15 pounds ready to fly with a DA 50)
flys like it is on rails. I dont think there is another plane that light of the same size |

Another vote for the Airwild 260. Flys really nice. Slows down to a crawl. Great on a DA-50

I think I'll go with the AirWild. Looks like the lightest weight.
