Default Please read...!!! Airframe choosing guidance!!!

Hello everyone....!

I understand there are other subforums best suited for this kind of threads, but I think this is the best option since all of you are in the IMAC flight line.

I'm willing to take the step up to 33-35% scale plane.
There's only a minor issue on selecting the right plane: I live all the way up to 8000ft over sea level. It MUST be a light plane.

With this in mind I've started looking for the right choice. It must be a KIT since I like building my own planes, I can strip some weight off, and I love the freedom to choose the way it will end covered up...!

My first option would be the AW Edge 35% Builders kit. I´ll put a DA 100 in the front (Are there any other brands...? ). I intend to punch holes in the airframe everywhere I can with as little weak points as possible, and of course buy all CF parts available.

Can you builders/pilots, write down what you've felt or heard regarding this plane? Have you known or heard final weight on this configuration?

And if possible... could you tell me which other light planes brands are up to consider?
Any plane within the 33 - 35% range would be OK.

Thanx in advance for any input. I'd love to hear from you!

Best regards.

I think you will be very limited as far as a kit. I don't think that the AW kits are available any more.
I have also been looking for a good kit and only find:
Carden, Aerotech and Dalton.
There are a couple of others that I am not considering such as the Bob Godfrey and Lanier.
Now if you are looking for an ARF AW is an excellent choice.

BME makes some lightweight motors - you might look into the 115cc that they make

Thanks for the inputs everyone....!
Engine other than DA is almost totally discarded by now, but thanks anyway man!
Regardin the AW builders kit.... That's exactly what I've been considering allt afternoon.
The Dalton 35% seems a bit heavy even on diet.
The AW Edge 35% seems to be a good option... then again... can be a little heavy for the height I fly at.
Gee......
Any experiences on this configuration?
