Thats cool.
Looks like the original SUK cowl, and the 260 pilot and a brand new airframe behind it. Very Very Neat. I hope Mike McC designed it! Because if it even comes close to the 260, its a winner!!

I heard the same thing as Sleepy. Same cowl new airframe.. It looks as if the wing has been raised compared to what I'll refer to as V1.....and the stab may have been moved as well. I"m glad to see the lines of the canopy were kept true to scale....but something doesn't look right to me. I can't put my finger on it yet.....just not sure. I'm sure since it's from H9 it'll fly just as great as the first one...........can't wait to see them around. Just not sure I would own this one vs some of the others on the market.

To me, the only thing that looks a little off is the rudder. I am posting a link so that you can compare as well. To me, it looks like it is squared off, kind of like an extra or edge tail. The Sukhoi has a distinctive rounded feature.

Looks a bit like a YAK 54 with a single place cockpit.
Well... like what everyone in the RC world has called a YAK 54 for the past 4 years... Even the YAK 54's don't really look like a YAK 54!!

Mike brought the Suk down to the NC regionals this past weekend and showed it off in the freestyle. I was the pilot who was flying it in the Sportsman class, but it is HIS plane. I had not flown the plane until friday night, where i put one flight on it, and then flew the sequences the rest of the weekend and came in 1st. It was really easy to addapt to because it flew so well! It really is a great flying plane in both worlds, the freestyle/3D side of things and the IMAC. It is extremely light and has an unreal amount of power with the DA 85.
From just looking at it in comparison to another suk that were at the contest, there are a few changes to the design just by looking at it. The surfaces are obviously made larger, the wing is placed much higher than that of a real suk or even many model suk's, and the horizontal stabs are much lower, giving it what im assuming is a strait thrust line. It rolls very axil, for how much i got to fly it, and once again just has an unreal amount of power on the up lines and to do right down on the deck hovering and have plenty to rocket out (which mike demonstrated). Im not entirely sure what all the changes were, that might be something mike can fill everyone in on. I think this plane is going to be simply awesome!

From what I understand it has a pipe tunnel built into it for a can. At least the prototype had a can on the DA-85. I seriously doubt Mike would design anything without taking noise into consideration these days.
