A couple questions;

1) The fuse sides are flat forward of the wings LE and the Cowl is round, 1/4" gap where the two meet up?

2) The rectangular gussets in the fuse, are those to print? or added by Walt?

thanks, Ward
Hey Ward: Yep, my 37% is the same way, there's a gap at the fuse side where the cowl meet's. With the wings on its not too noticable but its there. I have seen some guys fairing this area in but it ends up looking worse in my opinion. Its one of those live with it sort of thing at best. The gussets are supplied with the kit. Walt

I don't agree with this. I have seen many, and you could not even tell it was done.

I happen to be going through my Yak to store for the winter. Here are a few shots. I could not find any from the build to show this good enough.
Just light grade balsa thick enough to allow for sanding to final shape and feathered into the flat side 5 1/4" front the front edge. Also before glueing onto fuse, cut the recess to allow wing to still seat fluss against fuse side.

Of course, these are from my 37% Carden Yak, but still could be applied to the 32%.

well, it would be easier to store it without chance of lost pieces if it was at its flying condition breakdown stage....

I know what you want......You can't fool me with that very kind offer. But it doesn't hurt to ask.

I don't want to hurt your feeling, but " No Thanks ". At least, not now.

Walt,
Looks like another super build you have going. I'm still trying to finish Ward's 32% Yak. God bless his patience...I would have killed me by now if I were him.
I had a build thread going for it but it turned into one lame thread. Seems like life got in the way of building all too many times. All parts are ready for covering except the fuse. I still have some sanding left on that to get the shape just right.
Also need to glass the hatch/canopy and get it ready for paint..but I'm getting there.
I always enjoy following your builds and learn something every time.

Thanks Steve: This build has been on the back burner for a long time. I feel bad that its taken as long as it has for me to get to this project for Rob. He's been believe it or not "very" patient, yes TBOOBS has patience, well kinda. I hope I can make up for it by delivering him a plane he really will enjoy and possibly fly. The blessing with these build threads is that there's a whole bunch of great builders out there, and it's just part of the hobby to share tips and shop talk. I have yet to meet a guy that loves to build that doesn't like to bench talk building..My friend Jerry once mentioned that "Building is a hobby, flying is a sport"..This is a really cool hobby..Walt
