Vertical Stab and Turtle deck:
Stab got set in 30 minute epoxy with milled glass. I set the stab and the tail post on centerlines, vertical and across the stab plate drawn from the firewall to the tailpost. The rear turtle deck is set in epoxy as shown but I mix micro balloons in the epoxy...The 1/2x2 inch aluminum bars hold the deck in position with the fuse side while it all sets up with wax paper in between...

Turtle deck is on and "yes" there's some spackle to blend in the vertical fin to the deck. Might be a little more before its done but, all in all I blend this area to have a very slight radius to help overlap the covering in this area instead of a corner. I'll make an end cap for the top deck and its time for the center hatch..

A couple pictures from today" Because I am going to try to build this hatch without glassing it in, I have figured it a little different than the plans call for. The side rails are made from 3/8ths sq stock. The fuse in the hatch area is 1/2 inch thick. I made my own rails this wide less the thickness of the canopy to come flush at the headrest and at the fuse side, less blending. I will also change the front instrument panel area to mount the canopy similar to the way the 300 and 330 is done. The foam on the front hatch is going to get all the excess removed also..Tomorrow, want to look at this a bit more ( :

Hatch build up: I have the frame made and glued to the attachment tabs. The headrest is undersized by about 1/16 for the canopy to set on and the side rails are 1/16th inside the fuse sides. I assembled all this with 30 minute epoxy. The mounting tabs will be doweled with 1/8 inch dowels to insure that this all stays on the plane. Hatch will attach with 6# 6-32 screws.

Foam hatch cover: While the hatch frame set's up I made templates from Formica sheet to wire cut the forward foam cover. I left 7/8ths foam thickness for the end caps to glue to. The templates are sprayed with 3M77 adhesive and stuck to the foam hatch ends. I also put 3 push pins in for insurance.

Dash instrument panel: Seeing how Tboobs don't know what to do here, I took an old plastic panel I had and stuck it in the scanner. Sized it a little with an Adobe program and printed it out on Glossy photo paper. It looks good enough for this POS...This is a combination of 2 ideas from Wayne and Lew..Dash is a piece of foam that I will sheet with 1/32 balsa and this picture will get "gooped" on the front of it

Top Hatch: I got the foam cover glued on and the sides are ruff blended in. There's a floor that's 1-3/8ths up from the frame rails. The canopy side bottom actually forms part of the fuse sides, the canopy is huge. Lots of fitting and fiddling with this to get it right....Miller time

Canopy: There's a floor going in this cockpit but I figured I'd fit in the canopy where it sets and do the floor around it. I stuck on the cowl to kinda look at it, looks like a Yak to me..
