This is the link that I built YAK-54 with DL-50 and pitt muffler from Great Planes (81" span). The total weight is about 7.1 kgs and flying 3D very well.

It flies great and fully 3D. I like it so much DL-50. I have now two DL-50. One for this YAK-54 and another one for Ultimate Worldmodels 60" wingspan...Power is like DA-50 I do believe it. I fly about 25 flights so far and no issues. easy start and low idle. 7200 rpm with CF 22 x 10, and low idle at 1500 rpm.
Here is the photo...ULTIMATE World Models with DL-50 and stock muffler. and TME smoke system. I used 470cc smoke tank and last for 7 mins continuous blow. |

No,
He's talking about the counter balances on the end of the ailerons. This is not often seen on the real thing or on models for that matter, The arrow in the photo points them out. |

I got it now. What is the purpose of this counter balances at the aileron. In fact when I assembled this plane I saw this point and it is unusual compare to other planes I built such as WildHare, Composite-ARF, EXTREME-composite, etc. But it flies very very well and I like YAK-54.

If you notice, most big scale 3D planes use counter balanced elevators and some ailerons. My Lanier Yak has them also. It helps counter the force required by the servo to move the aileron and/or elevator. So, you can say it assists the servo's.
