Lots of nice hardware.. just 100% sweet kit.

Heres a few shots right out the BOX!

Cool. So far I like everything in mine but the screw-on EZ connectors. I don't understand how they expect those things to keep from coming loose. I already bought dubro's...

OK..

First I set up my hinges by slapping a pin in the middle so I can evenly space my hinges in the wing, half in the aileron, a half in the wing, and a pin's width seems to be the perfect space to give you proper throw. So once all four hinges are in and properly spaced, i drip one tiny drip of thin CA on them to tack them.
Pull your pins and then extend the aileron all the way over and put a few drops of thin CA on each one.. letting them soak in... flip it the other way and do it on that side. I repeat 2 times, each time using small drips of CA.

Then I cut just a slit into the covering, where the control horn is to go. And I'm installing the aileron control horns.
I looked at this for a few minutes and decided to push the back flush, and let the front sit about 1 mm out from being flush, this brought the horn hole up 1mm, and seemed to let me get full throw.

Once again, just drip Thin CA on to the sides and let it wick its way into the wood.

Great thread..

For cutting the covering away in areas like the horns, servo cutouts, wing openings on the fuse etc, heat up a soldering iron and run it along the openings. It cuts the covering away and also seals it to the holes.

Totally. But i just wanted to slit the covering for the horns.
There is really no need to remove any material (just for the horns)
But yea, when you cut the servo holes, teh soldering iron cuts and seals at the same time!

Also, I have to get the servos yet, so I'm skipping the radio instal for right this second!!

Ok loading pictures.

OK... following the instructions..
I mounted the small plywood squares in the wheel pants with thick CA.
I stop with these here, because you need to use a power tool to slot them, and kids and wife are sleeping - Power tools = NO NO.

So.... mount the wheels, the Colet's are the best ever, they have an extra lip that keeps the wheel from rubbing on the full face of the Colet.

Mount the gear to the fuse, and we have gear! (don't forget the loc tite! )

On the the Motor Box.

Really nice construction here, the box fit perfectly, no modifications needed.
Simply slide entire box into slots and slide down and lock into place, add the support angles on the side of the box, lock in, and then thin CA, and then MED/Thick CA to ensure a solid box.

And now the coolest little air scoops that seem REALLY functional...

I cut these out about 2 - 3 mm past the cut line to give them a good surface area to glue.

When you fit them, the angle support will run in to the scoop from the back.
Fit it up, Mark it, cut a little groove and then glue on. When finished they are just straight up BAD ASS.

After that, slap the motor in... and the front is pretty much complete!
(I know I only have 3 screws in the motor... the kit is missing these 5mm I think, and I had to scrounge... I had 3... will do for being static at the moment!)

Mounting the cowl.

Ok. I learned this trick from an OLD timer at a swap shop once about 10 years ago and have been mounting cowls like this since.

1) make paper or cardboard strips that you tape to the body and lay over the Tabs that will become your mounting holes.

2) Mark the centers on the paper of each tab

3) slide on the cowl under your paper markers.

4) slide on the spinner back plate and line up the front of the cowl with the back of the spinner making sure you have enough space and its centered.

5) tape the cowl in place

6) drill where your markers are.

7) you should now have holes right through the cowl and the center of your tabs

8) put CA into the holes.

9) smile you cowl is on straight!

The cowl is a little big, and no matter how you try the stripes are really HARD to get them to line up with the plane. No big deal, the quality is still sweet, but its a BIT big.
