Default Fliton Mini Extra 260, 330 or Egde ???

Hi,

I'm about to buy at the local hobby shop one of the mini fliton models, however I read in some places that the 330 is the best one for 3D and the easiest to fly but when it comes to construction I read that it is pretty difficult and that the instructions are not very clear...

I was thinking about the edge until one friend of mine told me to go to the extra models because it's easy to manuever. He has one 33% Edge 540 and one Extra 330S and that's why he told me that. I fly 3D foamies and eletric fun-fly's and I'm looking for a plane that I can learn something from but at the same time allow me time and mistakes to learn. I want to pass for bigger gas airplanes after this one....

I read also that the landing gear easily comes off... is this true at all?

Can you please help me making a decision?

Thanks

Hi,

I have not these plane in my fleet but in order to help you the only thing I could say is what I heard about....

Extra 330 is the more difficult to built
Edge 540 has the best 3D flight
Extra 260 has the best construction: easier and stronger, and has great 3D capabilities

so If I were you I will buy extra 260.

In fact I am interested in it, but I still wonder if I would prefer the AJ FG extra or the mini 260 or the pitts python from zerogravity...even if my heart want a python ...

hope this help,

The Fliton 260 is the newest one of the bunch....and is great!! I have the Mini 260 and the Edge...love both. Also have 4 AJ extras....one in the new Flying Giants Scheme...AWESOME! The AJ extras truly do fly like the big ones......very locked in feeling. Go with any one of them.....the wind has more to do with the freestyle flying of tiny models more than which extra you choose. Have fun!!

Hey, I need an opinion on a setup for the Fliton Extra 330S Mini that the local HobbyTown should get any moment...

I'm planning on using a E-flite brushless 480, 4 Servos Hi-tec HS-55, a CC 25amp and a TP 1320mAh.

I was hoping to have a little bit more vertical power then the hacker A20-20L and because I live in Colorado I want to make sure I have enough power....

What do you thiknk about this? Any better choices?

Let me know. Thanks

Hi

I have bought a mini 260 few months ago.

It is really easy to end the building and it has a removable pairs of wings (that's cool for transport). It has a lot of space in the main body.

It flies really well and it is really easy to hover with it.

Advantages:
- it can bear some wind.
- the color scheme is really good for the visibility.
- all the classical aerobatic can be be made easily.
- to improve your 3D skill, it is a the good plane.
- the main frame is strong, you can made high G maneuver
- the landing gear is really strong

Drawbacks:
- quite heavy, and need a really good motor & Lipo for 3D flight.
- When you have tasted this plane, you can't go to the flying spot without.

Yet I can't give you a feelings about the E540 and the 330.

I hope it can help you in your choice...

David

PS: you could also look to the inspire mini, that is lighter but needs more speed to fly well.
PS2: excuse me for my english level....

The 260 is bigger than the 330 and the Edge...

The 260 suffers wing area when compared to the eflite 260

The edge 540 is amazing! and blows the Eflite 540 away

And the 330 Is overall the best!
