Default TAS 2007 a perspective from TWIZ

Hey all! Got home last night from the 07 Shootout and was totally worn out! I wanted to post a recap of the trip from my perspective of having been out of competition for the past 6 years.
First off the trip down was a blast picked up Super Dave and the foamies on Sunday around noon.

Once we were ready to go full of gas and waived goodbye to the 505. Sixty miles out of town Super Dave and his baby bladder could not hold out we had to stop. Here we go I was warned!
After 457 miles and four stops so Dave could pee we made it at dark to the hotel. We meet up with Ralph “Leroy” Lang and headed off to Hooters for some grease and BEER!
Three pitchers later we were done and ready to get some sleep.

The planes for practice were 5 deep at 6:30am what a drag no practice time just waiting.
By 10 am Dave was beating his head against a wall due to motor trouble. This would last until Wednesday when Dave Johnson arrived with the man Brian Gilmore total rebuild and the 150 was singing.

By Monday afternoon the Giants were in full affect. Many had arrived but it was low key so nobody would get in trouble. This continued on Tuesday as well but we arrived at the field before 6:00am so we could get a front spot to fly not so everyone else did the same thing. You guys know the rest of the story from the live threads posted by BOULDER!

I got to meet some cool Giants out there and you guys were a blast. The giants have some of the most mannered young men and women I have ever meet. All the Giants I met made this trip worthwhile. I would like to give a shout out to Zak West for putting a motor on our table and telling us “use it until you get yours fixed”. He was having at least as much motor trouble as we were.
To all the giants out there I met Zak, DJ, Jeff, Matthew, Brianna, Todd B., Dan B., Chrisb, Ian, Troy, Nick, Sam, Ken, Mike B., Eric, Tom, Max, Steve, Bob S., Wizard, Mike R., Wayne, Curtis P., Curtis C., John G., Peter G., Tony R., Mark L., There are so many others. You guys are the best. To all the Giants under 23 years old you guys really impressed me as being both good pilots and good Kids (sorry for the expression). Keep it up with you young ones flying at this level our hobby is on the way up.

I hope to get my act together and hit the road next year. I hope to see you next year!
Jeramy

Great meeting you Jeremy,
Hope to see you again. By the way, that Sam Adams Iced Tea should be a good seller if they ever bring it to market.

Jeramy,

It was great to hang out with you, Dave & Ralph at the TAS. You guys are just another example of GREAT FG members we contiue to meet in our RC travels. Thanks for the tips for Todd and helping me make up my mind on the next plane. Look forward to seeing you all again.

Jeremy,

It was great sharing space with you and SuperDave. By the way, your painting skill is sick as is your constant positive attitude. You guys were on point with the engine tech. Dave's plane had a whole pit crew. That was awesome to see. I would have believed I would be done with problems like that but you all persevered.

Good show!
