Also they had out the 150cc size Yak and the 150cc size Ultimate.

Both looked promising

Sweapea,

How did the DA-170 do - I just saw it on the cowl of the Aeroworks 260....

Any hints when DA will put that thing on the market???

yeah I'm drooling...

Sorry if I missed it but I thought Jason was flying the new Ultimate. Why did he end up with the 260 instead?

The Ultimate was on display, but Jason did not fly the competition with it. It was a prototype and from what I heard it was a little tail heavy. Jason chose to fly the 42% 260 and that plane did really well. I'm sure Rocco will get the Ultimate perfect before he stats production, he always does. It is a beautiful plane.

Another interesting thing that AW showed at TAS was a patented way of attaching the cowl on the new 150cc YAK without screws. It is really nice and should make maintenance easy.

Ronster,
You might want to look at the cowl a little closer. It doesn't have DA in front of 170! Jason's has a DA 150 with Greeves pipes and Sean has a 3W-170. Not sure what pipes he was using. Congrat's to the Aeroworks team on the strong finish. The old Extra 260 just keeps coming back!!

I watched all of Jasons flights on Sat and Sun. He flies that 260 great and it has very good power in those demanding sequences. I wish he would have flown freestyle on Sunday.

That big Yak is quite a plane. Aeroworks just keeps on progressing. That plane is huge and it wieghs 40lb 11 oz, I know because Ivan Kristensen, Rocco, and I put the plane on a scale. The cowl design is the best I have seen since I saw Yuri Higuci's scratch built extra. Hopefully someone will post some pictures of there herd of airplane they had on display. It was impressive.

Yep---

Talked to Dave about the 170.......not out yet and no pilots were flying it.

Jason was going to freestyle the ultimate but the altitude vs weight issue was too much. Remeber this was like prototype 1 or 2. Rocco had a page long list of changes for the next version. It will be a little while before its released.
