I have this set up with a 3W 106 CS and canisters . I have been flying this plane in IMAC competitions since early last year. What's your question ?

Did you have to do anything special to balance it with the 106?
Another flyer at our club said his just balanced with a DA 100.

In other words, did you have to put batteries or other setup items any place
special?

Thanks
Bob

I have a 106 in mine a older version I think. And it does weigh a bit more I think. I have canisters also. I had to put my batteries back behind the servo tray in the bottom. I have two Fromeco 2400s. I also put couple of oz of lead on the tail wheel. This is to get it balance the way I like it for 3D.

Yup, building a Gen III right now, with a newer style 106 b2 QS. Will be done this week. We'll see about balance...

I just received my new 3W-106 with the aluminum carb block. It weights 6.42 pounds, even though the Cactus Aviation website says 5.9 pounds. I weighed a DA-100 at the local hobby shop and it weighed 5.85 pounds, so my calculation is that the new 3W-106 is .57 pounds or 9.1 ounces heavier than the DA-100.

That is just the engine with spark plugs installed. No ignition or mufflers.
