Super-Huck!: Presented for incredible contributions from our members, to our community. - Issue reason: All four of these guys definitely out-did themselves and exhibited excellent skills with video and camera work. Their stuff appears on the BOTG page. Thanks for submitting to the gallery guys!

Andy,

Great work. This is very interesting to me as well.
We all want to be like Mike, so we tend to buy what they fly... but there is also another angle. These guys are competitors of the highest caliber. If these guys didn't fly RC, they would be competitors on the golf course (some are), Army Special Forces, race car drivers, football players, (even hot dog eating champs), or some other pursuit of excellence. Ever notice the type of guy I am talking about? It is about competition more than all else, and it just happens that they like airplanes.

Where I am going with this, is that they want the best equipment to do their thing, and the breakdown is very telling about what is considered the best. Sure, an inferior company may give away so much of their stuff that they have a larger share on the field, but that would not last long as word got out that there was something better. Any edge these guys can get, they will use.

That means what they use, is generally better in their eyes, which often translates to better in our eyes. That doesn't mean that if there are 50 DA engines and 10 3W engines that 3W is junk...not at all. It means that at least 10 guys love 3W, and they are fierce competitors, so you can't go too far wrong to get one. I prefer DA, but I have other reasons, like proximity to them in AZ, and a personal relationship feel when I talk to them about anything and everything.

Good work and lots to keep in mind.

Did DA say anything in regaurd to the 170 or the 200? I have always liked this sport because the top sponsored elite guys were running the same equipment you could go and buy.
