I'll admit I'm a noobie at this giant scale stuff, but I'm surprised no one else has broken a prop on a non-crash landing with the stock gear. I'll have to give the aluminum a go again sometime, but not until I get my money's worth out of the prop I'm using now.

No one that I know of. It would have to be a hard hit. One of my friends has one with a DA-85 running a 24x10 3 blade and I've seen him do harrier landings without hitting the prop.

I usually touch down very lightly when I land. Every now and then I space out and start daydreaming when I'm about to touchdown. Then I may land a little harder but still the gear never really spreads that much. Not enough to make the prop hit. That's a long way to go.

Well thanks for all the feed back guys and great vid too.
I had already ordered the gear, but wont start assembling plane for a couple of weeks. whenthe graphtec gear arrives i will chuck em both on the scales just to see. i dont do harrier landings, and really wanna keep it light as possible.

It made different than the old graphtech gear. There is a video of his extra testing the new gear on Graphtech's website. http://www.graphtechrc.com/
Hmm, maybe they were calling it V2 and I'm mixing up the two. Either way, this was gear that had reported fixed the delamination problem and they were great. I've seen the new gear on the website though and I might have to get some for my Dalton.

Bam,

Stay around 11-11.5 The stock one with no flex I got from MTW is just about right. 11 from flange to end. I sent a mail to Reza and he confirmed the 11 inch length. My EF Extra 88 with a DA 50 turns the Mezlik 23x10 at 7400. Sea level. Throttle curve in my JR radio is as:
0 0
1 16
2 21
3 29
4 35
5 42
6 65
7 100
