I store 1 on my pool table (also doubles as a work table), 1 in my van (used for airplanes only) and the rest on the garage floor and in a rack I made out of schedule 40 PVC that hangs from the garage ceiling.

Mine sleeep in what little floor space of my shop that I have. My project this weekend is to beg grandparents for money for shelves.

Just finished installing this great storage system for giant airplanes. It's a 4X4 steel grid attatched to the ceiling joists with heavy cable that loads my 40% Carden Edge and my 37% Godfrey Extra. It uses a a awning crank that lowers the grid to store the planes on and then raises them to the ceiling. Literature says that its capable of holding 200 lbs. As you can see it stores 2 planes nose to tail without the stabs on and there's plenty of room. It might be possible to store 3 smaller planes on it. Company that makes it is called Racor. Costs about $140. Room to walk under it and plenty of room for a car under it, too.

About 1 1/2 working alone. An extra set of hands would really help to level the platform

Might as well move that sofa out of there. You can get more planes in there that way. You sure as hell can't sit on the sofa anyway...

My bigger planes all hang from the ceiling, It's nice to have 9 1/2 foot ceilings. Smaller planes are on the walls. I have a wing rack that holds wings as well as my sailplanes. I have a rack that hangs from the ceiling that holds my combat plane and the wings of my 30%. These are all in my studio apartment. I even had to take down pictures to hang planes on the walls.
