I saw Discovery from Kennedy a while back. From 8 miles, the flame is like looking at a welders flame, and the sound vibrates everything! It was very cool!

Hahahaha, I've been called 'worthless' by better!!!  Sorry guys, no pics. But it is really cool to see the launch on TV then step outside watch it go,,, and it really does GO. |

I saw it once when I was stationed in Orlando Flordia, This was 16 years ago, I took some pics but they were with a 35mm camera and buried in the attic somewhere, we was a long wasy away I bet it was cool close up

Orlando is way closer than I am. Ft Myers is still a couple hundred miles away!!
I watched a satellite launch from the right seat in a King Air,,directly over Lakeland at FL190. That was interesting! |
