50cc or bigger
The QQ 100cc Python is hands down the best flying Biplane I have seen. The Ultimate is excelent I have not seen enough of the Aero works Python Any of the Pitts S2 and Christian eagle Pitts wil have some real coupling issues and be poor choices for precision IMAC Dennis |

The Ultimate is exactly what it's name says. That plane really rocks!

I'm going to also go with the PAU 27% Pitts Challenger I've Owned and flown both an Ultimate and a Pitts S2a. The Ultimate as everyone else says is a fantastic flyer. But the Pitts is a great looker. I spoke with Ken at PAU and the challenger is a cross between the two. I'm ordering one Monday morning. He says it has great flight characteristics and good for some 3D action too. Someone needs to build a 50cc Ultimate with a different trim scheme the blue and red in my opinion has been done by everyone. I'm sure the Great Planes Ultimate is a great performer I've been tossing that one around myself, But who wants to go the flying field and have the same plane and colors as everyone else? The pitts challenger comes out of the box in solid red so you can do your own original trim scheme or stick with the stock decals. I started a thread about this plane on rc universe and got some pretty positive feedback. Search BME or PAU pitts challenger. Good Luck... I found my happy medium.

I have the Wildhare 50cc Ultimate. As far as flying it is a very good plane. The covering has been a pain since day one but a lot of that was self inflicted.
The plane is a wild beast on high rates and a very controllable plane on low rates. I have a mid rate setup that seems to be the ticket on this plane. It 3D's very well. |

Ultimate!
Most of the smaller Pitts don't fly that well. To also include the CE in that size. |

Put Chip Hyde and his big Ultimate alongside Que Que and his big Python. That way you are comparing apples and apples. Both are excellent in the larger versions but in the 50cc size class the Ultimate wins out.

I have flown most bipes over time - small bipes are not so good because as most guys have said - coupling, then wind vaning and flip over landings etc, etc - the pitts looks great but really they are just what they are - the ultimates fly rings around any of the other in small and big size - fact!!!
if you are a serious flyer then the best bipe in the 50cc class is the Chip Double Vision(if you can still get one) and then the ultimate's and then the s12's - the pitts is a good show plane and looks great on the ground!! |

I have an Aerotech Pitts Python and it flys great and lands like a feather. I have a 3W 55 in mine , pulls like a tractor with unlimited vertical. It needs a little more aileron but I have never had a problem with the way it flys.

Hey Terry,
You know if you put Python decals on that plane it would fly much better. Planes don't like to fly naked!!!!!!! LOL.

I have the very same Aerocrap Pitts, unfinished , hanging in the shop , for use as a whipping post, pinata. Such a piece of crap that I deemed it unworthy of my premium equipment. It's funny how people's opinions vary. I don;t doubt you really like yours or think it's great. I wish I had the same feelings for mine. really. 600+ bucks for a pinata.... I bought a Sig Sundancer while waiting a year and a half for my AeroCrap pinata. The Sig Sundancer is simply the best 50cc or 1.60 sized bipe I have ever flown. Super Stable, nimble, fast roll rate, flat spins that are unreal, super slow speed if you want it, KE like a rail. Hands off inverted. Sturdy, reliable, easy to assemble at the field, no bad habits at all. You owe to yourself to fly one of these, if you love Bipes. I bought it as a pancea waiting for the AeroCrap Pinata, thinking it would be THE throwaway, WRONG.....it is a keepr and more. |
