Hello drbyrnes,
You inquired earlier about the Cox Wings Pitts M12. I have one finished and ready to maiden. This would be a great purchase. The plane is well constructed and surprisingly big. It is 72" top wingspan. Not to mention it is now on sale for $399.99. Excellent manual and fit and finish is very good. If you want to email me rvpinto@bellsouth.net I have a slew of pics I could send you. Just let me know. Take Care.

Hi guys...

I just found out that the Wild Hare Ultimate is no longer available and I'm pretty dissappointed about that.

I have been looking through all your suggestions on a plan B and the closest I can come to feeling good about a replacement is the Python.

That means I need to save more money and a delay but you get that.

Any other comments about the Python from owners?

Cheers

Goose

Thanks Anders...

Cheers

It all depends on your flying style. A Pitts (at least, a scale Pitts) has a much shorter moment (length between the wing and tail) than an Ultimate does. The cowls are obviously different also, but that won't make a ton of difference.

Because of the shorter moment, a Pitts will typically be a better tumbling plane, but it will also be more prone to snapping on you.. be careful with the rudder until you know what to expect.

An Ultimate will fly more like an Extra with a lot less coupling than the Pitts, although it still has a lot of coupling when compared to a Extra.

You can have a lot of fun with either plane, just make sure you have a good computer radio to mix out the rudder/aileron and rudder/elevator coupling that is inherant to every biplane.
