The Humpty can go either way. Learn to fly it both ways, pushing out and pushing in.
Let the wind determine what you do each flight.
If the wind is blowing out, I'd push to come back in and vice versa..
If you dont, you could get further out or, too close in if the wind is blowing in.

The radii of the top push does not have to equal the entry and exit radii so, if you do get too far out prior to this maneuver fly it in over the top. Make the top radii big to get you back where you want to be on the X axis..

If you can practice it both ways it will make flying in cross winds a lot easier on the whole sequence.
Thanks Wayne. I am not finished with the plane yet but hope to fly in the next couple of weeks if the weather holds out.

Hey guys I will be competing this year for the first time in some IMAC events (Basic)and had a question for you experts. First off Wayne thanks for posting the videos of the 2008 sequences. They will be a HUGE help in my learning curve this year.

After looking at the 08 Basic Sequence I wanted to make sure that I had all the manuevers down in the correct order they were flown.

1. Roll
2. Half Cuban 8
3.Hammerhead
4. Loop
5. Humpty Bump
6. Reverse Sharks Tooth
7. 360 degree turn
8. Sharks Tooth
9. Vertical line
10. 1 1/2 turn positive spin

I appreciate your feedback and I am really looking forward to competing this year. I have a feeling that this thread will be a fantastic resource which will definately contribute to my success. As well as a lot, and a lot, and a lot of practice.

Tim

Wayne, on Sportsman maneuvors 6 and 8 when the half roll or 2 of 4 is execuated, one is looking at the bottom of the plane correct? Now as flown both maneuvors require a PUSH to 45 down as in number 6 and push to horizontal as in maneuvor 8. It is my contension that the Aresti for these maneuvors, as drawn, is incorrect. They are incorrect because Aresti says that after the half-roll one is looking at the bottom of the plane and if you want a push to verticle then the line after the half roll becomes a red-dashed line - not a solid black line.

If you look at maneuvor number 7, the part of the element after the half-roll is a partial inside loop (i.e.5/8 loop) and the plane remains upright.

I do not disagree with what is flown only the "as written" partial line which I maintain should be a red-dashed line!

What say you? Anyone else? How about the sequence writers?

Thank you for responding.
